To Live Without You (Chapter 14)

Dana woke up ten minutes later than she’d planned, the athlete popped two pills and threw on her workout clothes. Seconds later Victoria was banging at the door impatiently. The athlete stumbled, the sleep still controlling her body, swinging the door open she realized "morning person" did not even come close to describing Victoria.

"Let’s go, the faster we get done running, the sooner I can eat."  Dana nodded slowly as Victoria began pushing her out of the door, the athlete beginning to jog in place to warm up.

"Why didn’t you eat before? You should eat before," Victoria matched Dana’s pace as they set out for the long trail two miles from the athlete’s place.

"I did but…I didn’t eat as much as I wanted, and I really hate these runs….anyway gezzwhm calimelasssnig." Dana’s world slowed down as the trees began moving by her slowly, the athlete blinked her eyes then opened them wide.

"Wha–what?" As Victoria moved in front of Dana quickly, odd shapes trailed in front of the athlete’s eyes.

"I said gezzwhm called me last night." Dana continued to run but began to sway a bit as her body tried to deal with the drugs and exercise. The trees and sights around her began to speed up and the athlete almost tripped and fell it felt so real. Her double’s partner stared at her a moment, Dana looked confused but aside from that she was running normally. The athlete’s head spun as her brain tried to decipher what Victoria had just said, the sentence ran in her mind over and over until she could answer.

"I– don’t know, who called you?" Dana stuttered trying to control her wayward body, Victoria waited a moment then jumped back into the conversation.

"Dr. Gena from the rehab clinic…she thought we were together so that’s why she was calling me looking for you." Dana nodded still a little dizzy and already exhausted less than two miles into the run.

"Ok so what did she say?" the athlete panted as she pushed herself uphill, lungs burning more than usual.

"I asked her why she was calling me and not you and she said she thought we were together I told her she was mistaken and she got all quiet." Dana’s nose ran a bit and her eyes watered, Victoria noticed but chose not to say anything, Dana’s pride was strong where sports were concerned and the double’s partner didn’t want to step on her toes right now.

    1. I was so happy to see your update. Dana’s in a bit of a downward spiral. Will Alice be the one to save her? Update soon. I can’t wait to see what Alice says.

    2. ClosetDana, you are so entertaining. Slo-mo Dana, lol. “you let that out and your house, your whole block, will be burned to the ground” that comment stuck with me. The visual you gave me of Alice against the wall with her mouth open in orgasm… shouldn’t be Cliff though.I’m sure Alice wouldn’t have to direct Dana on what to do or how to do it.Man… Dana better get that head on straight, that pill-popping, beer-drinking woman is going to find herself in a whole lot of trouble. Those two need to tackle each other and show us some real action, if you know what I mean. NOOOOO… don’t move in with him!!! What are you doing to me??? I hope you have something satisfying coming up cause you don’t want to see me cry… trust me, you don’t. Want the Gena/Vic hookup. Make me proud darlin!

    3. Whoo-hooo…I get to comment under my other great Danish writer (besides Master layla), I find both you gals writing amazing, am so happy to be able to read your fics…brteyes, love your stuff. I was so sad to see that Dana is hurting, but it feels good to see this side cause IMHO I always found that it was Alice who had shown the most pain in their break-up. Dana was sorta shallow in S3 and that wasn’t how I saw them in S1-2, I needed to see Dane downward spiral as well. If I haven’t said it mate, bloody awesome job. Cheers…

    4. I love updates. I must say that you are quite the impressive writer. I really enjoy your fics. This one really has me hooked. I admit that I have been known to yell at the computer while reading it. Alice and Dana get so close and then…BAM! something happens and more drama ensues. It is definitely an interesting piece. I’m worried about Dana, and hope that she can get on the right track…with the help of Alice of course. I can’t wait to read more. Please update soon.Pheww! All done. I promise, no more drive bys…or um…read and runs without comments. Keep up the great writing.

    5. you just love doing the chiffhangers but I love it please post soon and who will save dana I think that only alice can help her great post

    6. Another great update. I’m sure Alice will be the one to “save” Dana from the drugs and from Victoria. They just belong together. Love this story, looking forward for what’s in store.

    7. Oh damn, they were so close… Drama, that’s what you writers love…and thats what gets me hooked. :) I hope Victoria will talk to Dana about her drugproblem… Btw, I really liked the (minor) interaction between Alice and Dana, a bit jealous…weren’t they? :) And to answer the question, was it a good thing or a bad hing that Shane erased the message. Maybe it’s good thing that they spent time apart and than on the other hand maybe they would live happily ever after (I know, in real life that doesn’t happen and your story is much more realistic :D).Oh well, we will never know. ;)
