Triangles – Love in Triplicate -Chap 4 ~BluJewel~
Shane sashayed over to the table and sat down, still acting innocent. Dana giggled, as she watched Lara visually reprimand Shane who was blushing every hue of red.
“Okay, enough already,” Shane lowered her head. “I get it! I get it!” She mumbled, still keeping her head down.
Lara laughed and lifted Shane’s chin up. “Okay, Fig Girl,” Lara smiled sweetly. “I know you’re checking up on Dana,” Lara’s syrupy voice that made Shane melt into submission. “But she’s in good hands. Very good hands I might add,” she said with a smirk.
Shane knew where Lara was going.
“Okay, I give in!” Shane declared defeat. “You’re right; she doesn’t need us spying on her. It’s her date and she can get through it alone,” Shane conceded. “Wasn’t my fault anyway. It was hers!” Shane pointed at a fuming Alice who stomped into the dining room.
Dana laughed because they’d forgotten to give Alice the toilet paper and wondered how she wiped herself. Alice met them at the table.
“What’s so damn funny Fairbanks?” Alice pouted, arms crossed over her chest.
Lara gave Dana a questioning look and she stopped laughing. Lara looked up at Alice.
“So, I hear ‘I Spy’ was your idea?”
Alice shot Shane a look and Shane shrugged giving her the ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about look’. “Whatever Shane! I know you caved. Amateurs!” Alice grumbled.
“Ladies, while I think it’s admirable that you’re looking out for Dana, I think she can get through this alone. Lara smiled at a blushing Dana. “It’s a first date and she’s supposed to fumble a little. So, be the loving friends that I know you can be and get out of here. Like I told Shane, Allstate has nothing on these hands,” Lara grinned.
Shane and Alice looked at each, took the hint, and turned to leave.
“Enjoy your dinner ladies,” Shane smirked.
“Yeah, what she said,” Alice cosigned.
Shane and Alice got outside and stared at each. “Whoa! Dana’s gonna have a great night Shane said, with a devious grin.
“Damn right she is!” Alice high-fived Shane. “Our work is done. They’ll have plenty to talk about now,” she grinned.
