“At The Planet,” Alice said softly, letting go with one hand and lifting it to gently run her fingers through Shane’s short hair, smiling. “When we were at The Planet and I said I had feelings for someone else… I was talking about you.”

Shane continued to stare blankly at her and then just shook her head. “No,” she said, sounding more hurt than she had before. “You’re drunk. Don’t say things like that just to make me feel better.” She broke out of Alice’s embrace and this time Alice didn’t try to hold her back. She left the room, going out in the hallway and finding her jeans there just like she thought she would. Quickly, she put them back on and let her eyes search the apartment, looking for the rest of her clothes.

“I’m not saying it just to make you feel better,” Alice suddenly said behind her and Shane turned around to see Alice standing there in her dressing gown. She had put her thong back on but hadn’t bothered to tie the sash on the robe. It clung to her shoulders; wide open and revealing her milky white breasts. Alice noticed how Shane did a second take before stubbornly turning away. “You’re so much more important to me than that. Why is that so hard for you to understand?” When Shane didn’t reply, she went on. “I’m not lying to you. I broke up with Dana, because I realized I still had feelings for you. I had them for so long, but I pushed them away because I was convinced I would never ever get to be with you.”

Shane stopped with her back turned towards the blonde, listening to her words, but not quite convinced she was telling the truth. All her feelings for Alice… She had tried to make them go away for such a long time. So many years… and here Alice was trying to tell her that she’d been going through the same thing? It was just too much to take in, and it seemed too good to be true, yet so incredibly sad at the same time. If she was telling the truth, then so much time had already gone to waste.

“I wasn’t expecting this to happen, Shane,” Alice continued, feeling desperate tears trickling down her cheeks. “That’s not why I asked you to come over tonight. If I can’t have you as my girlfriend, at least I want to be your friend. Just being around you, having a good time, it means so much to me. But to be honest, I’ve always hoped for more than that.” She felt her cheeks redden, was she saying too much? Would there ever be a possibility of them going back to being friends after that confession?

“With Dana… I just… I didn’t want to be with someone that I wasn’t in love with, you know?” She slowly walked up to Shane and gently placed her hands on Shane’s arms from behind. Shane moved uneasily but didn’t try to pull away from her. “It wouldn’t be fair to anyone if I pretended he or she was the one when you’re the only one I can think about. Please… just believe me. This isn’t the beer talking, and it’s not just a one-time thing. Unless that’s what you want it to be.”

Alice felt Shane’s tense muscles relaxing somewhat and she was surprised when Shane turned around to look at her with an unreadable expression on her face.

“No,” Shane said simply, smiling slightly though she seemed sad when she did. Sad and scared. “I don’t want it to be a one-time thing.” She swallowed and took a deep breath, not taking her eyes off of Alice’s. She licked her lips before continuing. “You mean so much more to me than that.”

“I’m glad we agree,” Alice chuckled and smiled like an idiot, at least that was what she thought it must look like. Shane raised her hands to wipe the trails of tears away from Alice’s cheeks, and then gently placed them on the back of her neck, pulling her in for a long kiss. A kiss that sent sparks through Alice’s whole being, turned her on in every little part of her body, parts of her she barely even knew existed. “Bedroom,” she mumbled into Shane’s mouth, not wanting to end the kiss. “My bedroom… now…”
