    Window of Opportunity ch.37

I sat there on the couch after she left still stunned by the events of the evening. I too needed someone to talk to and I finally got up and went into the kitchen. I heard the shower starting and dialed Kit’s number.

    “Hey Tina. What’s going on?”

“Hey Kit. I only have a minute. Bette’s in the shower but I needed to talk.”

    “What’s wrong?”

“Bette went to a fundraiser tonight and Candace was there. She approached Bette and gave her all sorts of crap about wanting to be with her. Kit, she was a mess when she got back here.”

“That fucking bitch. Why the hell can’t she go away? Bette didn’t do anything did she?”

“No. She told her there was no chance of them. That all they were was an affair. She thought when she got here that she had messed it up between us.”

    “Did she Tina?”

“Not at all. I can see why she was fearful that she may have especially with things being so new between us but I have truly forgiven her. It threw me for a curve but we’re ok unless she lets it eat her up. Before she told me what had happened her phone rang and she threw it across the room. That scared me. I wasn’t afraid that she was going to take it out on me but she hasn’t shown her temper in so long that I knew whatever was going on was going to be really intense. The call was from Candace. Unfortunately, Suzanne’s number is in the phone. When she gets out of the shower, she’s supposed to look for Suzanne’s card and call her.”

“I can’t believe you two can’t catch a break. Tina, are you ok?”

“I will be.  Kit, I’ve never seen her like this and I was really worried about her. Her reaction wasn’t this bad when I found out about them. I told her when we first got back together that there will be no more chances and I guess she is worried about that. I’m going to need her to understand that circumstances like this are not what I’m talking about. Kit, can you call in about an hour in case she needs to talk to you.”

    1. I am savoring the back-to-back postings. What a treat! I love your writing style and find myself rereading paragraphs. Thanks for all the updates and enjoy the rest of your break!

    2. By some strange coincidence…you often write something that touches deep within my soul and that makes it extremely heartfelt. Amazing. Thank you again for writing.

    3. As always another truely amazing post! I so what you mean with the painting and friends and booze…just say you couldn’t decide which color, it worked for me for awhile anyway! lol Hope you had fun at lunch:)

    4. The od Bette needs to come out at times. Having a temper doesn;t not hurt, Now she will need to get a new phone.so in a way she hurt herself..Glad that Tina was so supportive of Bette then she explain to Bette about what she said It was the doing not what she couldnt control. thanks

    5. Wow, I am sooooo glad that you had some extra time to write this. I am awestruck at your ability to write like this in such a short amount of time. This was a beautiful chapter demonstrating just how far they have come with their communiction. I am always left with wanting more of this story and yet you haven’t teased me once with a cliff hanger…the mark of a really good story teller!

    6. Great challenge to the relationship and it all worked out so smoothly — at least for these two. I hope these two get a break though – Kit’s right — they deserve a moment without additional stress. Anxiously awaiting family day and how they are going to tell the girls….

    7. Bette lost it for a second but pulled it together when she saw that Tina was 100% behind her and believed she did nothing to encourage Candace. Great chapter can’t wait for what comes next. PPS

    8. Awesome as usual..yeah painting, BF and wine don’t mix well. I found that out with cooking :) Have fun with your lunch, and just take it easy. Anybody ask about your painting..just say its abstract..:) PPS

    9. another great update! enjoy lunch! wow if candance causes to much trouble the gang will have to step in case tina needs a hand. cuz tina will sure take care of her if need be! :)

    10. WOW, you’re on a roll, newagegirl! I haven’t even managed to leave a comment yet to your last two, long and enjoyable chapters but then you came up with another good one. Talk about prolificness! I’m really amazed. You write when you’re under pressure from your important project, in the middle of the night when you can’t sleep, when you’re pissed off because of botched weekend plans and before or after painting your kitchen. WOW! I salute you, newagegirl! Btw, a million thanks for granting my requests! You know, I started squealing when I read Tina and Bette’s recollection of the night when they first made love. I was beside myself with joy because that’s what I wanted to read and you granted my wish! And you followed it up with the account of their first out-of-town trip to Moscow, Kentucky! Excuse my language but holy sh*t, this just keeps getting better and betterer!!! This chapter’s a good test for them. Ghosts from their past are bound to haunt them but the difference now is how they react to them, how they handle the tricky situations individually and together. Looking forward to the Saturday barbeque. :> I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the beautiful memories of their rings, their commitment ceremony will be in one of the next envelopes. This could segue way into the bitter, painful memory of the day they stopped wearing those rings. Thanks a lot for this update, newagegirl! And may your Muse continue to inspire you whatever real life crisis or inanities you’re dealing with right now. PPS. :>
