    Window of Opportunity ch. 41

“I was worried about you and wanted to get back quickly. I just pointed at the menu and told them to throw some stuff together. At least we will have leftovers.”

I simply adore this woman. “Yes Baby, we’ll have leftovers.  They are coming out.”

“Angie was asking who Grandma and Grandpa were.”

“Yeah? She took the phone and started talking to them. They were really excited. They are going to come out sometime middle of next week. Could you send more pictures tonight?”

“Of course I can. Everything else ok?”

“Yes, they’re going to send me some info about Luke to your email. They were really trying. They were the people I remember and miss.”

“I’m happy for you Tina. I know you’re torn but it’ll all be ok. Umm..how about you and I have a date before they come? You and I, some romance, a little surprise, and who knows what the night may have in store for us.”

“What kind of surprise?” I asked as Angie got up from her chair and crawled into my lap and waited as I fed her some of my food. Bette just looked on and smiled.

“T, the basic definition of a surprise is that you don’t know about it. I’ll see if Shane will babysit and when we find out exactly when their coming, we can have our date.”

“Sounds wonderful Baby. Do you mind finding space in the fridge for all that food while I bathe her? I want to tell her about Grandma and Grandpa and maybe bring some pictures over to show her in the next couple days.”

“Not a prob T. See, you laugh at me but no cooking tomorrow. Are you going to the apartment tonight?”

    “May I stay here?”

    “Like you have to ask.”

Bette got up and walked behind us. She pulled us into her arms and kissed both of us. I love her without question. All that has happened in the past is in the past. I think that maybe I too might bring a surprise to our date. Bette Porter thinks she is the only one who can keep a secret. I almost bet I can top her on this one. Hmm…Bette better watch out. I need to show her how much her support and love mean to me and that is not something I take lightly. Oh yes, our date will definitely have some surprises involved.

    1. Welcome back, newagegirl! Have I mentioned that I absolutely love this story? I like the story’s pacing; you’re not in a rush, you’re taking time to explain what both Bette and Tina are going through, what they’re thinking and their emotional state. I’d really love to see an episode or two of Season 6 play out this way because like Alice, I’m dying to know if Tina’s been raised by a pack of wolves or not. And thank you for keeping the memory of the healthy, happy and goofy Dana alive. I also appreciate the “screen time” you’ve been giving to the adorable Angie. That’s something we didn’t get from the show this season too. Me wuv surprises! Can’t wait for their date night… THANK YOU, newagegirl, and please don’t stay away too long!:>
