Lara “Alice…”

Alice looks over at Lara.

Lara “…Is there anything I can do?”

Alice looks at Dana.

Alice “You’re doing it now.  Okay…I’ll be back later.”

Alice leans in with a supportive kiss to Dana’s left temple.

Alice “I will take care of this and make the arrangements.”

Dana “…’Kay.”

Alice stands and makes her way to the door, exiting the bedroom.

Lara “I’ll be right back.  I just wanna make sure of everything.”

Lara kisses Dana on the cheek and stands, making her to the door and exiting the bedroom.  Dana cradles Mr. Piddles, still sobbing.

Down the stairs Lara goes, calling out to Alice before she can leave the apartment.

Lara “Alice!”

Alice turns, seeing Lara coming toward her.

Alice “Hey.”

Lara “…Thanks.  I admit I… I have felt really lost this morning.”

Alice “Lara, you’re doing what you can.  Don’t doubt yourself.”

Lara “I’m just trying to stay strong for her.  I’m trying to hold my own emotions in so she can let hers out.”

A tear falls down Lara’s right cheek.  Alice closes her eyes, her voice still as soft.

Alice “Come here.”

Lara walks to Alice who pulls her in.  Their arms wrapped around one another in grief, Lara finally lets herself cry, if only a little.

Alice “You’re a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for.  Remember that.”

Lara finally pulls away, wiping away her own tears.

Alice “Anything she needs.”

Lara nods, pulling away from Alice and beginning to compose herself once more before going back to Dana.  Alice watches Lara walk back up the stairs to Dana’s bedroom before finally exiting the apartment.

The Planet.

The cafe where Dana and her friends gather through good times and bad has been closed for business on this late afternoon into early evening.  Alice and Tina look over Mr. Piddles, dead in his casket.  Robin has arrived in support of her new friend and would-be date.  Dana and Lara are there, talking with Tonya, Dana’s agent who has drove in for the funeral.  Shane is there, preoccupied with her cellphone as her relationship with Cherie has fallen apart.  Marina is there with Ivan and Kit arriving.  Bette soon arrives as well with a gift for Dana, a painting of Mr. Piddles.  Ivan passes along her condolences to Dana and Lara before walking with Kit over to view Mr. Piddles.
Shane is off her phone, now standing next to Marina while Alice and Robin talk.
