Chapter 16

Bette was the first to wake up Sunday morning.  The sun was shining through their windows and Tina was curled up so peacefully.  She was home…finally home.  But just as quickly as that happy thought came to mind, she was hit with the realization that Tina had lived for 6 months not knowing where she was.  That must have been so hard on her and yet she hadn’t let on that any of that had mattered.  All of Tina’s attention had been focused on caring for Bette.  Bette hadn’t even stopped to think what it must have been like for Tina.  Well that was about to change.

Bette heard Angie waking up so she went to her room to get her ready for the day.  Tina needed her rest so Bette let her sleep.

After getting Angie dressed and ready, she got some apple sauce and juice out for her and made some coffee for them.  The smell of coffee woke Tina.  She heard Bette and Angie giggling in the kitchen.  They were sitting at the table coloring a picture when she came in.  “There are my girls.”  Leaning in to kiss them both she smiled “how are you both this morning?”

“Momma B is coloring with me” Angie explained.

“Yes we are making beautiful art aren’t we Boo?”

“Uh huh” Angie nodded.

“Well it looks like you have Angie ready.  Why don’t you go get ready and I will watch her while I drink some coffee.” 

“Ok T” Bette replied as she kissed Angie on her head.  She pulled Tina into a loving embrace and kissed her.  “I won’t be long.”

Within the hour, they were all ready and headed to the Planet.  The gang already had their regular table and the table was full of various dishes.  They waved at Kit as they arrived and soon 2 coffees and a juice were heading over to the table.  On the way over Bette had asked Tina if she would like to talk about the last 6 months.  Bette suggested that they ask Alice and Shane to take Angie to the P A R K so they could talk in private at the house.   Tina had agreed.
