Bette, Tina, Kelly, Carmen and Louise all sat round the table with 2 funders.
“So Against the Current go out on tour tomorrow and Jaded’s Lee is playing bass for them, do I have that correct?” a funder asked
“Yes” Carmen nodded
“What about the summer set?”
“Jess is going to be working with them over the next few weeks to produce their new album” Kelly explained
“What about Jess’s contribution on the label?” The funder asked
“Jaded has 6 month leave due to Jess’s health, however in saying that Jess did write a killer song before getting sick and the video is done so were thinking about releasing it” Kelly explained
“Guys we really need to wrap this up I only have an hour break” Carmen explained “As you can see the accounts are fine, our artists are fine everything is fine”
“Everything seems to be in order we are happy with the process however Jaded being out the loop has us concerned”
“Why?” Carmen said stopping and facing them “they’ve worked their arse of for 10 years their fan base would fighting you, 6 month is nothing”
“Who’s Jaded’s manager?”
“I am” Kelly said
“Then what has this got to do with you?”
“Jess is my wife it has everything to do with me, if you’re not happy with her having the time off then we’ll find new funders” Carmen folded her arms, Bette and Tina smiled
“No no that’s not what we’re saying”
“Look she’s taking the full 6 month off, she’s sick it’s not up for discussion” Kelly agreed “She’s giving everything to us, she’s entitled to the recovery time”
“Glad we sorted that, See you all later” Carmen said leaving the office
Bette and Tina got up lifting the keys.
“Thank you gentleman, it’s been a pleasure” Bette smiled “Kelly I’ll call you later”
“Mum can you help me before you go, my stupid camera keep’s freezing its doing my head in” Lisa snapped
“Use mine it’s in the storage locker” Tina smiled “I need to get home, I don’t like Jess being in on her own when she’s not doing to great”
“Okay thanks” Lisa said lifting the key for the storage cupboard out of Tina’s desk drawer.
30 minutes later…
Bette and Tina walked into the house closing the door; Liam and Jess were sound asleep on the sofa. Tina signalled for Bette to be quiet as she came into the lounge. Tina took out her phone taking a picture before leaving the lounge and going into the kitchen to put the kettle on.
Bette stood against the door frame just watching her daughter and grandson sleeping for a few minutes before going to join Tina in the kitchen.
“You okay?” Tina asked
“Yeah they both just melt my heart” Bette smiled
“Your struggling babe I can see it in your face”
“A little, I just want me and Jess to sort this, I don’t like the fact she doesn’t trust me at the minute”
“Only you can sort that babe”
“I know, I know, Carmen has annual leave starting a week today for two weeks, I’m thinking a family vacation”
“Babe I don’t know if you and Jess will be able to fly” Tina explained
“No I was more thinking cabins at the lake” Bette smiled
“Okay yes that could be an option, I don’t know if the kids would be up for it though” Tina stated “And we would need two cabins”
“Not necessarily they have the massive family cabin with 3 floors, the one with all the balconies” Bette explained “I’m going to go call them and see if they have it available”
“Baby I’m not putting a downer on this but you do know a holiday isn’t going to fix all this, it’s going to take time”
“No I know that, but we need some time together with no distractions” Bette explained
“Yeah okay I agree” Tina smiled as Bette left the kitchen.

Just after 6 Carmen walked into the house and into the kitchen.
“You look dead on your feet” Tina said looking at her daughter in law
“I feel like it, I’m tired, sore, starving and need to go this stupid studio tonight” Carmen sighed “Where’s Jess?”
“Right here” Jess said wrapping her arms around her wife’s waist from behind and kissing her softly on the cheek “We don’t need to go tonight if you don’t want too”
“I need to babe, they go on tour tomorrow and you promised Brian”
“Brian can come here” Jess said letting go of Carmen and fixing her some tea
“No we’ll go I’ll be okay once I get food and red bull” Carmen smiled “Bloody heat out there is ridiculously and all this padding doesn’t help”
“Why didn’t you get changed at work?” Jess asked
“I want it all washed and I didn’t want to hang around anymore than I had to” Carmen explained “My head is ready to explode”
“Rough day?” Bette asked
Jess handed Carmen a mug of tea and pulled the seat out from the table for her to sit down.
“You could say that, Andrew was off so I was paired with Declan, I felt like I was being punished” Carmen stated making them laugh
“Why didn’t they give you Kenzie?”
“Because she was selfish and took a holiday” Carmen sighed getting up “I’m going to get showered and changed”
Jess followed Carmen out the kitchen and upstairs. Tina turned looked at her wife.
“So when do you intend on telling the children they’re going on a family holiday, I’m sure they will be thrilled” Tina smirked
“I haven’t worked that bit out yet” Bette smiled at her wife
