The next morning, it started to sink in that things were different than they’d been. Dana had her taping session at ESPN beginning Monday, and Alice had her first meeting with a website consulting firm the day after. While these were both good things, it was a little strange to realize that this was really the first time since Dana had come home from the hospital that they were both going to be doing some very important things for their respective careers.
Needless to say, both of them were nervous. Bette saw it immediately when they sat down at the group table for what had become their weekly Sunday brunch at the Planet, and asked Kit to get them both some iced green tea. “It’ll help,” she said with a shrug. Dana just sighed and shook her head, but she accepted the tea gratefully. Alice protested a little since she wanted her usual coffee instead, but finally gave in when Bette pointed out her shaking legs.
“Guys, really, calm down. Everything will work out,” Shane comforted a little sarcastically as she ate her bagel.
“Yeah, says you,” Alice muttered.
“Hey, don’t piss in my Cheerios just because I’m doing well for once, Al. And you’ll be fine. Your site’s good, I don’t know why you’re freaking out about it.”
“Um, maybe because I could make a hell of a lot of money if I do it right, and nothing if I do it wrong?”
“Either way, you have to chill out or you’ll never know. Just do your best with it and you’ll be fine, okay?” Shane asked.
“Yeah.” Alice looked away and sighed. “I guess I’m also nervous because I scheduled my first appointment with the shrink on Tuesday.”
“Wait, you did? With the PTSD guy?” Dana asked, surprised. Alice nodded. “Baby, that’s great! I mean, it’s not great that you’re going. I mean, it is, but not because you have to go…” Dana rambled, flustered. Alice just smiled.
“I know what you mean. And it’s fine, I know it’s a good thing. It just makes me nervous, that’s all. But I’ll be fine. And you’re gonna be great at the taping tomorrow,” Alice said gently, taking Dana’s hand as Shane and Bette echoed the sentiment.

Bravo! I love seeing these two working things out and how much they truly love each other. Plus they get all the support from their best friends. I must say, the whole witnessing someone dying thing has to be the most traumatic experience. You really nailed it in Alice/Tasha conversaton. Your writing is so real. I often can picture the scenes unfold in my head. Thanks again for a wonderful chapter. Will Alice become really successful because of the chart and still drive the mini? Hope so. I am a little apprehensive about Tahsa though. Alice by nature is a caring person. I just hope that her love for Dana will keep her out of trouble. Can’t wait for your next post. btw, it’s water under bridge regarding “on the boards” last night. There is no need for apology. I was not even slightly displeased. Hope today is better for you. Can’t wait for you next post.
As always Muted you make me smile at all of your updates for our Danish. Sorry haven’t posted a comment in a while, but i have read them all and love your writing dearly. It always amazes me how i can see what you write in my mind. it is so much better then the show itself, i might not watch and just read your stuff instead :). ok, i’ll peak, only because of leisha though, keep up with the happy mood:) and the writing!

Once again my Sunday Danish fix, yay! Nice job in getting Tasha into the picture. Actually it’s kinda freakish how well you blend these characters into your story with close to actual storylines/dialogue from the show. I have to say your description of Dana’s eyes toward the end of the chapter just about melted my entire being, thanx!? Seriously, this story makes the actual show look like one big nightmare; I’m with Dana and Alice this has to be the reality…!
Babe you know I heart you and I heart this story, I really liked the was you got Tasha to open up a bit, I’m so loving my version of paws in this. I also loved the NC-17 well you knew I do anyway hehe.
I cannot express the excitement I felt when I saw an update. I haven’t quite had my danish fix besides watching my season 1 and 2 dvds. I’m so estatic about Dana mentioning kids with Alice. Too cute. Hope to see another soon.
