    Young Love: Chapter Thirteen

The girls sat in the bleachers as Dana played in her first tennis match. Dana’s parents were a few feet away as Alice looked over at Dana’s mother. Shane squeezed her knee, and Alice looked at her friend.

“What’s wrong?” Alice sighed and looked back at the court.

“Sharon Fairbanks—she’s un-fucking-believable man. Dana told me that she called me white trash. Why would she say such a thing, and she barely even knows me.” Alice pouted.

“She’s just looking out for her daughter. She just wants what’s best for her Al.”

“Well I’m what’s best for Dana.” Alice looked at Shane and then back at the court. “I’m in love with her Shane. I want her mother to know, I want the whole world to know that.” Shane grabbed Alice’s hand.

“When the time is right, Dana will let the whole world to know, but right now she has to do what’s right for her.” Alice leaned her head against Shane’s shoulder.

“Thanks Yoda,” Shane looked at Alice weirdly.

    “Yoda?”

“Yeah—for now on you are the modern day Yoda. You spread the wisdom around to your friends.” Shane smiled softly.

    “Thank you Al.”

“No problem,” Carmen touched Shane’s arm, and she looked over at her.

    “Can we talk?”

“Yeah,” Shane nodded, and they got up from the bleachers. They walked away from the bleachers, and Alice looked at them.

“Where are they going?” Helena spoke up.

Alice shook her head. “I don’t know—,” she looked back down at her paper and continued to jot things down.

    ——————————————

“What’s up?” Shane put a cigarette to her lips and lit it.

“Are you suppose to—never mind,” Carmen smiled softly as Shane exhaled the smoke. “I wanted to talk to about something.”

    “What is it?”

“Well I was talking to Drew earlier today, and he asked me out again.” Shane smirked as she took another drag of her cigarette. “And I said yes,” Shane left the cigarette in her mouth as she looked at Carmen. Carmen nibbled on her bottom lip.

“You said yes.” She pulled the cigarette from her full lips and exhaled through her nose. “Why did you say yes?”

“I-I don’t know. I thought that I would shut him up if I told him yes, maybe I’ll get him off my back.” Shane leaned against the wall and flicked her ashes. “Besides he said it’s not a date—he invited you.”

    1. Aki didnt expect a chapter today, and I liked it. Poor Al having to hide when Sharon comes and leaves before saying bye to Dana. Shane is really into Carmen and you see a softer side to Shane, she is cool, and loyal to her friends and family but she finally sound somehting worth while and its Carmem. And I always love to leave my fav couple for the last…I see that Bette and Helena are realing falling for one another. Cause it was so sweet, loving and tender when all Helena wanted to do was just lay on the bed hugging and feeling Bettes skin on her’s nothing more, that was sweet. GReat chapter aki.

    2. I loved it, didn’t expect a post today, but I’m glad. Love Shane’s softer side, and Helena and Bette are cute. Poor Al, but if she loves her she has to be patient.

    4. Akira, nice move of how you got rid of Drew. Shane’s little love confession made sense. I wonder if it is too soon for B to move in with H. Though, it was great to see everyone helping H move. What a nice group of friends! A stood out again with all her complaints and I loved it. Any Danish interruptions were fine with me. It would just make the final connection so much better. You are right those two were so cute. I can never read enough about Danish love. Thank you Akira.
