    Iris_chapter one 

     

    Some believed that our path has been written for us before we even know how to crawl. Then there are those who refused to accept their unescapable fate. They believe with Free Will, they can shape their destiny into their own desires, but truth is, we cannot change what’s been craved in stone. Free Will is not an act of escape, because one cannot run from their fate, as one cannot change their destiny. Free will, will only delay the inevitable or accelerate your progress, but the end result, whether you want to accept it or not, was written long before you knew how to crawl.

    This is a story about two women trying to outwit their destiny. Bette Porter loathes love. Tina Kennard loathes what Bette Porter stands for. The legendary tales of Miss Porter were heard from West Hollywood to East Boston. Women call her many things (words that I shall not repeat), but those same women would drop their boyfriends or girlfriends like hot iron to the skin, just to be with Bette, again. Our hero has one rule. She will not sleep with the same woman twice.

    Bette thinks love only exist in an unfinished fairy tale, because what happens after the glorious wedding between the prince and princess, no one shall know. No, Bette’s not a cynic. She’s just a product of her father. Her dad used to tell her all the time that love is for fools who believed that grasses are greener on the other side of the pasture. When in truth, true love has never existed, nor shall it will. "If that’s the case. Why love, when in the end, love fades anyway." Bette thought.

    The sun was scorching on this Wednesday morning. The heat was unbearable. They were in triple digits. So, it doesn’t surprise the gang one bit, when they arrived at The Planet to find every corridor filled with scandalously clad women and men sipping on their preference drinks. The gallery owner, and her friends were having their ritual morning breakfast together. Since, no one, besides from Bette has a typical 9 to 5 job. It was easy for them to band together, and since, Bette is her own boss, she can make her own schedule.

    4. Ugh Tina and jenny are best friends. Jenny is a pain. Bette will not pass on Tina.She will track her down and try to have her one night stand and with Tina dont think it will work. Not for a long time. thanks

    6. Well, Tina threw down the gauntlet when she did that and Bette has never backed away from a challenge. She finds it more interesting and her more determined than ever to conquer the young lady. Can hardly wait to see what happens. PPS

    11. LMAO, Tina’s parting shot was priceless. Guess Bette has met her match. Now I wonder what she will do about it and what will happen when she realizes Lust at first site has turned into L-O-V-E! I so enjoy your banter between the characters. :)
