I led them to our main entrance and Spencer’s grip tightened. I turn around one last time to take a good look at Arial and Evana before speaking. "So…which one of you kiddos want to go in first?" I asked sarcastically. Arial wasn’t amused but Evana laughed softly.

"We’re the followers, honey, not your leaders." She replied, cocking her head to an angle.

Our attention was caught by the quickly moving shadows in one of our bedrooms. Hard footsteps could be heard on the spiral staircase and I knew it wasn’t going to be Kyla. Before I could allow any of them to create a disturbance, I opened the front door hastily to allow everyone to enter.

Just as I had suspected, my eyes met Odette’s who was standing just a few feet ahead of me. I wanted to properly introduce everybody but my furious guardian dismissed my manners and went for Evana as soon as she was settled in her spot behind me.

"How dare you enter our home, you grotesque fiend!" Odette called out, hovering as she began to prepare for a harsh attack. Her five fingers transformed into two thick ones with hideous claws forming as nails. Her fangs shrunk but the rest of her teeth turned into sharpened tools designed for an instant kill.

She began spinning herself around in midair and launched herself at Evana who was caught by surprise. Odette spiraled herself around, kicking the dangerously shocked immortal in the chest before pulling herself away.

Evana couldn’t breathe as she struggled to pick herself up off the floor. Arial wanted to help but she refused the eager assistant and stood her ground, like a true warrior.

"Wait! I’m not here to harm anybody!" She tried reasoning with Odette. My fierce guardian paid no mind and prepared herself again for another attack towards Evana. Spencer was clutching my arm in fright but I handed her over to Arial, more than pleased to take care of her new acquaintance.

As Odette threw herself at the ‘enemy’, I ran towards Evana and stood in front of her with my arms extended to hopefully prevent serious injury. I closed my eyes shut and a couple of things happened as I did so.
