Everybody's got their something – (Chapter: chapter 6- feels like they are following me)

I saw the bus and chocked back tears that wanted to fall down but I wouldn’t make it any harder than it had to be. It was a nice surprise but now I had to get back to real life. I hug glen and he looks just about as sad as I felt like he could read my mind. I just nodded at him and he turns to get on the bus. The dorrs close and I start to walk away when I hear someone shouting.

    “hey!”

    “yeah?”

“I only drink cool aid now, just for you funky monkey!”

I laugh to myself, he is ridiculous. “thanks chunky monkey. That means a lot.” He smiles and sticks his head back inside the bus.

I smile to myself and head back into the building. I was going to make things work here for real. I only have myself to depend on now.

I pack the last of my bags and stand up looking around the room. I lived here all my life and now I was finally moving out, well dorm rooms don’t really count as moving out but no parents so I’ll take it. I tear the pictures off my wall and start to but them into my bag when I come across her. I hadn’t seen her and two years and it felt like it was ten. She never wrote me. never she promised and I guess it was another empty back of words she liked unloading on people.

“how could you do this to me spencer carlin.”

“I don’t think she did it on purpose, you know she went through a lot.”

I turn to see my mom standing in the door way. She was having a rough time with idea that her baby girl was going off to college.

“I know mom but all I wanted was a letter and she couldn’t even give me that. What did I do that was so wrong?”

“nothing Ashley, but people are who they are and after what the carlins’ have gone through, it was a matter of time before one of them self destructed. I just always thought spencer was the stronger one.”

“yeah me too but it didn’t matter…she’s gone.”
