Ashley looked back at her completely lost in panic and remembered what she was going to tell Spencer. Now her nervousness doubled tenfold.

“I was just saying that I rea-” Their bucket started swing back and forth and the wheel began to move again. “Now what the hell was that?!”

Spencer laughed, “Ashley. It’s okay. I’m right here.”

Ashley looked up at her and into her clear blue eyes. She could lose herself for hours at a time looking into Spencer’s eyes. Bringing her hands up to Spencer’s face she looked directly into her eyes. She couldn’t bring herself to say the words, not yet but she caught Spencer in a kiss that managed to garner a sigh from the other girl.

They spent the rest of the day riding rides that mortified Ashley but Spencer always ended up talking her into them. As dusk set in, a cool wind blew from the north chilling the desert air. The sun was sinking into earth splashing vibrant colors of pink and purple across the few clouds that hung in the sky. Spencer and Ashley rode home with Paula in the suburban, chatting about random topics. The conversation flowed easily and the nervousness that Ashley had felt about Spencer’s family melted away. Aside from Glen, Ashley felt as if the entire family really did like her. When they got back to Spencer’s house the girls headed upstairs to try and decide what to do.

“Hey Spence, is there any place that was like really special for you, growing up here?” Ashley asked.

“I guess there are a few places, why?” Ashley smiled and took Spencer’s hand.

“Will you take me there?”

“To which one?”
