From the Beginning – (Chapter: Chapter 17: No Place Like Home)

"Forget it Glen, this is none of your concern. Now GO TO YOUR ROOM!"

Arthur ushered Spencer to the other side of the table and sat her across from her mother.

Paula was steaming. Spencer could almost see the heat rising from her ears.

"Spencer, how COULD YOU?!? You lied to us, and am I to believe Glen about what you are doing with that girl?"

Spencer muttered, almost under her breath, "Her name is Ashley."

"This is just so wrong, I can’t believe she corrupted you, right under my nose."

Arthur took the opportunity to step in. "Paula, you need to calm down. Spencer hasn’t done anything wrong."

"Nothing wrong, no its that girl, she changed my wonderful daughter into someone that lies to me and goes against God."

Arthur stood from his chair. "PAULA, shut the fuck up right now!"

Spencer looked up at him shocked. Until now she had been hanging her head, trying to hold back her tears, now she couldn’t get past her father’s reaction.

"This is your daughter you are talking about. This doesn’t have anything to do with Ashley. We are talking about Spencer."

The shouting continued as Spencer started to sob, she wanted nothing more in the world than to be with Ashley now. She made up her mind that she had to fight this battle for herself. There was enough tension between her parents without her problems causing more for them.

"MOM, stop it! Stop it right now… I know that you can’t accept this, but you have to accept me!"

Spencer stood from her seat, knocking it to the floor in her hurry.

"I can’t even deal with you right now. I don’t know who you have become, but you are not my daughter."

"Fine, I’ll just get out of your face then."

    "I want you to leave."

"Paula no, you don’t mean that." There was an impassioned plea in his voice.

"Yes, I do, I want you to get out of the house, leave… NOW."

Spencer ran from the room and over the stairs collecting her clothes into a small duffle bag before grabbing her books and heading back down over the stairs.

"Spencer, stop. She will come around."

"FOrget it dad, she will never love me, not now. I have to go." She hugged her father quickly and headed out the door, pausing for only a second to mentally say goodbye before walking down the driveway and away from her family and the only home she knew.

Ashley was listening to music when she heard the buzz at the gate. She quickly turned it down, opening the switch and headed towards the door.

The door swung open to reveal Spencer, bags in hand, tears streaming down her face.

    1. I was so glad to hear Arthur tell Paula to shut the fuck up! It’s about time someone told her shut that judgmental pie hole! I’m so glad that Spencer and Ashley will be living together…I love where this story is going. PMS
