“That’s quite an accomplishment, Spence,” she laughed. “But while we’re on athletic ability, check out that broken glass. I threw that bag of bagels over there. Straight shot, from like, 20 feet away.”
“Impressive!” I giggled. A few moments later, she enlaced her fingers with mine and brought them to her lips for a kiss.
“Thank you,” she said, a small grin appearing on her face. She leaned in close again but this time, instead of kissing, I took her hand and held it over my heart, which was beating rapidly. Although she didn’t say anything, I knew she noticed; she smiled and kissed my cheek. She then took my hand again and I expected her to reciprocate the action but, alas, she did not. Instead, she brought my hand directly to her left breast and squeezed. I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Way to ruin the moment!” I said. She joined in the laughter and held my hand again.
“Come on, it was funny.”
“Yeah, it was,” I replied. I stood up and helped her do the same. She placed her hands on my hips, pulling me closer.
“I love you,” she whispered into my ear. I shuddered slightly from the chills this action caused. “I love you so much, Spencer.” I wrapped my arms around her neck and kissed her passionately, trying to convey the emotions I was feeling that I knew I would never be able to fully express in words.
“I love you, too,” I told her. She smiled and I cupped her cheek with one hand. I decided to borrow a line from her personal collection. “Promise me you won’t be mad at your dad forever?”
“I wish I could, Spence. What I can promise you is that I’ll try to work it out.”
“Good.”
“Just remember… key word there- try.”
“I know,” I replied. “But if you ever want to see a drop of that chocolate sauce again, you’ll try your hardest.”
“Miss Carlin, are you threatening me?” she teased, faking shock.
“Totally,” I smirked. “Is it working?”
“When Hershey’s is involved? Of course. And I’ll start trying as soon as I get back from Miami.”
“Miami?”
“I thought I told you? Some MTV awards thing. Everyone there is gonna be a total pain in the ass. But we’re nominated for, like, 5 things so we kinda have to be there,” she explained.
“When is it?”
“Tuesday night. I won’t be gone long… we’re flying down Tuesday morning and flying back Wednesday afternoon. You can’t come, right?”
“No, I have classes.”
“Yeah, I figured. Don’t worry, though, you’re not missing anything. These things are always so full of shit. Strictly entertainment purposes; they don’t give a crap about music. It’s just a bunch of 75 pound, coked up celebutantes trying to look cool,” she ranted.
“Be good, though, okay?” I asked.
“Aren’t I always?” she smirked. I shot her a knowing look and she smiled innocently. “Come on, let’s go get something to eat.”

Aww…I’m glad that Ashley is going to try to work things out with her dad-it kind of shows us that she’s grown up a little. Great update, can’t wait for the next chapter!

I just might be talking about my friend Blarity, yeah, that’s it. Here’s the thing Ashley, please think things through before you act out and piss Spencer off.
