Home less or more – (Chapter: Chapter 2: Tough Kid)
"Spencer I brought Paula!" Aiden said "I’m here honey" I moved to hug her seeking comport more then anything, I was so confused…
"What is it?" she asked after we parted. "I think she’s been shoot…" she went to her and started to examine her. Ashley was semi conscious, I knew because of the murmuring and whimpering. After a moment my mother turned to me.
"We have to take her to a hospital Spencer." She said "No mom… I promised her." I begged. She sighed.
"Aiden go get some boiling water, Spencer you will assist me." I nodded.
"I can’t use any painkillers because I don’t know if she’s on something." I wanted to tell her ‘mom it’s Ashley she’s not on drugs.’ But I didn’t know her anymore… and I didn’t want to tell me mom yet for some reason…
"Spencer, Aiden, you’ll have to hold her down. I have to get the bullet out and she can’t move! We can’t risk it traveling inside her or her losing more blood…"
I moved to her head and Aiden to her hips and legs as we both grabbed her my mom was preparing what she needed. Now I don’t have a sensitive stomach but I preferred not looking at what she was doing instead I held on to Ashleys shoulders and looked at her face… maybe I should have watched the surgery… because watching her didn’t make me calmer…
"Ready?" my mom asked. "Yes" we both answered.
I wasn’t prepared for the power Ashley used as she tried to get up, screaming from the pain.
"Spencer!" my mother yelled. "I’m sorry" I increased my hold on her trying to calm her.
"Shhh… It’s o.k., It’s almost over…" I whispered I think more to myself then to her. "HHHHAaaaaaaaaa" she screamed and I closed my eyes. God please let her be alright! I prayed. After another second she fell limply to the bed. It was so quiet.
"You can let go of her now." I heard my mom and opened my eyes. "Is it finished?" I asked her surprised.
"Not even close, but she passed out from the pain." She explained. I sighed as I let go of her shoulders and so did Aiden.
I walked aside "She is a tough kid" my mom said as she got the little piece of metal out. how could this little thing cause so much damage? "By the looks of it" she continued "this happend about a day ago, and she was conscious for almost all through out the surgery… haven’t seen this happen much…"
Yea… you were always a strong one weren’t you… Ashley Davies… god I missed you so…
Then Aiden was next to me holding me. I didn’t hold him back… god what is happening to me?

This intrigues me. For now I can only say that I like how you have this starting from a place that isn’t often used in stories so I applaud you for that. PMASAP ^_^
