    Being called into active duty.

    “Mostly they taught us stuff to survive and we had to pick what courses we wanted to go into.”

    My mother chimed in, “I’ve heard that it’s hell on earth for the first few weeks.”

    I shook my head in agreement, “It is. Once you’re in shape it’s not so bad. They had us run obstacle courses to build our stamina and we took self defense classes in case we ever end up in hand to hand combat.”

    “I bet you can finally kick Glen’s butt.” My dad began laughing.

    I let out a small chuckle, “Yeah, I pretty much can.”

    “What about the other kind of ‘fighting’?” my mother used her hands to imitate shooting a gun.

    “Yeah, I learned that too. I can shoot, reload, break down, and clean almost any gun that you put in my hands. They also had us work with grenades and some other stuff.”

    My mother turned to my father, “Oh god…my daughter with a gun in her hands…I just cannot picture that.”

    “It’s all pretty basic. Just the essentials to get by.”

    My parents questioned me for another hour and a half about all things “army”. I liked what I did. I never thought that I’d enjoy shooting targets with a fatal weapon, but it was pretty fun. Finally after my long interrogation session I got ready to go with Ashley. She told me to dress as I normally do. So I put on a pair of jeans and a light blue shirt that didn’t show too much cleavage.

    At seven o’clock the doorbell rang. I grabbed my purse and headed out with her. She looked nice. Dark blue torn jeans, black spaghetti strap shirt that fit her right in all the right places, and her dark brown locks cascaded beautifully down her back. I was in love with this girl. I had been for a long time. Why she never knew it? I honestly didn’t have a clue.

    She drove us to a club not far from where Grey was. It was known for its “all live” music. Which was one thing that Grey didn’t offer. They had live shows every now and then but mostly it was a D.J. playing records the whole night. I didn’t exactly know what we were doing here but I was interested in finding out.

    3. People drive me crazy sometimes with their lack of communication. Why couldn’t they just be honest with each other about their feelings? If they had, they could have spent those few weeks after Spencer came back form boot camp together doing…coupley things. But as you said, no Spashley for a while. *pouts* I’ll quit pouting if you update soon.
