Saving Grave. – (Chapter: Pictures And A Letter.)

    Ashley,

This note might freak you out a little bit, but that is not what I meant to do.  Aiden caught me looking at your picture today, and it made me think about you.  It made me wonder how you were doing without knowing what your son even looked like.  So, I sent you a few pictures from every single year.  There are a few from when he was a baby.  There are a few from when he was two, three, four, and there are a few from his birthday a few days ago.  I hope you like them.  I know we aren’t supposed to contact each other for five more years, but I just had to send you these.  I think we should keep this note to ourself.  His first day of school is in a week and a few days.  I’m thinking of making this a monthly thing.  I’ll send you the pictures I take.  If you don’t want to see them, just throw it away.  I can only imagine how you feel about this.

    Spencer

Aiden.  She smiled.  His new mother kept his name.  Ashley began to cry a little as she looked at the pictures.  He was so cute, and he looked so happy.  Ashley smiled because this is exactly what she wanted for the little man whose life she’d missed so much of.  There were pictures of him riding his first bike, sitting on the tolet getting potty trained, and so many more.  She stopped when she saw one of a gorgeous blonde holding him.  This was probably taken on the first day she got him.  She was beautiful.  Ashley couldn’t stop looking at them.  She put the rest of the pictures back in the envelope for safe keeping.  She put the one of Spencer and Aiden on her mirror right beside the only picture she had of him.  On the mirror sat a picture of Aiden and his new mother and a picture of Aiden and Ashley.  She almost cried, but she was happy.  Spencer Carlin had to be an amazing person to do this for her, and she couldn’t wait for the new one.

Thank you Spencer Carlin.  She whispered to herself right before she fell back asleep.
