Stormy Horizons – (Chapter: Ch. 1- Into the Looking Glass)

My name is Ashley. I’m 17 years old and am a junior at King High School. Dreams about girls were anything but uncommon to me. I’ve been a lesbian since I was very little. I had started liking girls when I realized that I liked spending more time with my boyfriends sister than my boyfriend. Eventually things got too far and we started kissing. My boyfriend barged in on us, and I haven’t seen any of them since. I’ve been with girls ever since, which is why dreaming about a girl, especially about one as gorgeous as this, were very common for me. However, there was something special about this one dream. Something different. Maybe I should look into this a bit. It was at least worth checking out. I leaped out of my bed and began to get dressed when there was a knock on the door. “Honey can I come in?” my mom asked through the door. My mom and I have always had a somewhat good relationship. When she found out I was a lesbian, we had a but of a rough spot, but she still loved me, which was worth something. My family was very rich. My dad was a rock star who was always away from home, and my mom was rarely at the house as well.

“yea, mom, come in!” I yelled in response.

“Phone, honey,” she said sweetly, “it’s Aiden”

“OK thanks mom,” I said grabbing the phone. “Hey, Aiden, what’s up?” Aiden was my best friend. I used to date him a very long time ago, and now he was kind of like a brother to me. Usually when Aiden called he had something urgent to say, otherwise he would usually just drive over to my house to talk.

“Hey Ash, do you want to go see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie? It starts in 30 minute so we‘ll need to hurry!” he practically yelled into the phone.

“Sorry, Aid, I’m going to try and find out whoever this Spencer Carlin person is.” yea, I’ve told him about her before. If only I could find her, I swear my life would be perfect.

“Sounds fun.” He responded sounding a bit upset. Then his voice rose, “Can I help?” He always wanted to be a part of everything.

“Actually I was planning on just scanning the myspaces. I’ll call you if I need anything.”

“Ok, later Ash,” he responded, and hung up. Later that evening I looked at the myspaces of every person named Spencer Carlin. Apparently there were a lot. Then I narrowed it down to Ohio. There were still 600 people by that name. I looked at the first 400 people deciding to give up still hoping she existed. Little did Ashley know that If she went one more page, she would’ve found the Spencer Carlin she was looking for. I decided to end my search for the girl of my dreams, literally, and go to bed hoping the dream would occur again. It did.

When I woke up I could tell it was late in the afternoon. After seeing the dream again last night I decided I wouldn’t stop the search for her until I was sure she was either real or not. I needed her. I needed to run my hands through her perfectly blond hair. I needed to hold her close to me. Then I got an idea. In the dream she said, actually I said, she lived in Washburn, Ohio. I’ll get Aiden to drive there and see if she’s real. After all, he’s always willing to help, and I don’t want to drive halfway across the country. I know, I’m so spoiled. So I called Aiden up and told him the plan. He was thrilled at being able to help, but less than exited about what he had to do. Reluctantly, he agreed, and it was set. I was set on a crash course that was Spencer Carlin.

    1. I love it. I just do…right away I was immediately drawn into the style. It’s almost novel-esque and it makes for a very unique read in the fan fiction world of constant dialogue. It’s hard to pull off, but when it’s done right it’s amazing. Nice job. I anxiously await the next installment.
