“Hey Ashley, are you guys official yet?  Because Spencer is out of her mind about you.” She asked gently.

“You think she really likes me?  I mean I really like her, but we haven’t talked about being exclusive or being together.  I just didn’t know how or when to ask.  Actually I was kind of scared to.” I blurted quickly.

“Ashley, she definitely likes you as much as you like her.  You two should talk.  One of you better or you are just going to sit spinning your wheels never saying what you really want to for fear of getting hurt.  I know it isn’t easy, but believe me her reply won’t let you down.”

I nodded. “I think I have a good date at the end of the week that will get all of that settled.”

“Oh yes, I think you do.  All I have been hearing is about how you have stage passes for Mr. Airplane Man.” Kaylen said rolling her eyes.

“So she is excited?” I asked

“That would be an understatement.” Kaylen said laughing. “If you need help setting anything up just let me know”

“Thanks Kaylen.” Having her support gave me more courage.

We looked up to see Aiden and Spencer coming back with our victory beer smiling at us.

“Oh God I am so hung up on that boy.” Kaylen said getting up.

I couldn’t help but think the same thing about the beautiful blonde standing next to him.

Spencer POV:

“So how are you and Kaylen doing?  Are guys ‘official’ or what?” I asked Aiden as we waited in line for beer.

“She is amazing Spencer!” Aiden said with a huge smile.   “When we were over in Vallejo the past weekend at Six Flags, there were three different times guys came up to her and asked her out or were blatantly hitting on her with me standing right there. I wasn’t sure how to approach it since I wasn’t sure we were exclusive or not.  So I just told them to buzz off when she gave me the ‘get them out of here look’.  The last one she threw her Coke in his face and told him to ‘fuck off or she would have her boyfriend kick his ass’.  She turned to me and said ‘so we are officially dating now hope you don’t mind’.  I think at that moment I actually fell in love with her so I yelled out to everyone standing by to back off cause she was my girlfriend.  So yeah I guess we are official.”

I laughed at his story.  It was totally something I pictured Kaylen doing.  I gave him a hug and said I was so happy for both of them.

“So what about you and Ashley?” He asked.

“I really like her Aiden.  Everything is so great and we have an awesome physical connection.  I know she likes me, but I don’t know if she is serious.  I mean we haven’t really talked about being exclusive or if we are just enjoying the company for right now.” I replied.

“Well have you asked her?”

“Not really.  I am kind of scared to hear what she will say.”

“Why?” Ugh. Boys sometimes I don’t think they got it unless it was word for word.

“Because I more than like her Aiden.  I am just scared to get hurt or to hear that she doesn’t like me as much as I like her.” I said quietly.  Aiden wrapped his arm around me.

“Spencer, I know Ashley better than most people.  She definitely more than likes you too.  She is probably feeling the exact same thing about talking to you about it.  One of you is going to have to step up or you are just going to go in circles.”

I nodded handing the bartender the money for our pitcher of beer.  As we got back to our lane I noticed Kaylen and Ashley talking intently.  They looked up and smiled at us.  Kaylen stood up and blew a kiss at Aiden.

“That girl has me so whipped” he muttered under his breath to me as he started over to give her a beer.  The same thought was going through my mind as I locked my eyes with a pair of beautiful brown ones.

“Get ready for a smack down on round 2 bowling” Aiden yelled at Kaylen and Ashley.  Amid the smack talk from them Aiden whispered into my ear “Remember if we lose they shake their asses for us…so let’s just make them think we want to win ok?”

I laughed.  I was all in for losing.
