    Author Notes:

    I just wanted everything to go back to the way it was before, but before what?

     

    She shook her head slightly.  “You used to love me you know.” She said sadly. “Was I just a passing phase?”  She moved over to me again and grabbed my hands.  I tried to pull away but she held tight.

     

    “Don’t put this on me!  You were the one that left me.  You are the one that broke that love between us.  What did I do to you that made you so mad at me…and at Kaylen?” I spat my voice shaking with emotion. 

     

    “It was all a misunderstanding Spencer!  I thought….”  I shook my head rapidly.  Her hands were still clutching mine.

     

    “No.  Don’t finish until Kaylen gets….” I started cutting Jena off only to be cut off myself by Kaylen barging through the door.

     

    She glanced quickly at us and my hands still wrapped in Jena’s.  “What in the hell are you two doing!!”

     

    “Nothing!” I said yanking my hands away.  Shit.  I am sure this didn’t look like nothing.

     

    “Sorry sis, I started to talk with out you, but Spencer cut me off.  She said to wait for you.” Jena spoke up.  She had stepped back from me and crossed her arms.

     

    “Thanks Spencer.” Kaylen said and took a deep breath.  “Well I am here…might as well get this all figured out huh?”

     

    Jena nodded and moved her surf board off the couch so we could sit down.  I let the twins take the couch and I curled into a recliner.  We looked at each other in silence.  I noticed the glance that Kaylen and Jena shared.

     

    “You already know don’t you Kaylen?” I asked softly.  She looked at me with tears in her eyes and nodded gently.  The look on her face made me scared to hear the whole reason for a year of silence between Jena and us.  I swallowed hard.

     

    “Does it bear the weight to change everything?” I asked remembering that Jena said it could.

     

    Kaylen looked at me reluctantly.  “It did for me, but you are the only one who can make that decision if it will for you.”

     

    I nodded and turned to Jena.  I didn’t want to know why she broke up with me specifically.  I wanted to know why a year of silence?  Why a year of so much anger directed toward me and Kaylen, who seemed to be an innocent party to all this madness?
