    Author Notes:

    I just wanted everything to go back to the way it was before, but before what?

     

    “Go surfing today?” I asked knowing full well that she had. 

     

    “Yeah, the sets were amazing today.  You should have been out there with me Spencer.” She said her eyes locking into mine.  I looked away.

     

    “I don’t surf anymore.” I said shortly looking at the floor.  It was something I had done so often with Jena.  When she left I could hardly bear to go with out thinking of her and eventually I had just stopped all together.  “Where’s Kaylen?” I asked.

     

    “She is at Aiden’s, running a little late I guess.” Her voice came softly, inches from my ear.  I jumped at her closeness.

     

    “God, Spencer…it has been almost a year since I have had you alone.”  She said with heavy words.

     

    I stepped back.  “I didn’t come here for alone time with you Jena.” I said.  She reached out a hand to gently grab mine.

     

    “Please Spencer, just one hug.  I swear nothing more.” She begged.  I let her pull me into her arms for a hug.  It was a full hug, it was familiar….and comforting.  I felt myself relax a touch in her arms.   “I am so sorry Spencer.  I am so sorry that I hurt you so badly and it was all because I was too stubborn to wait for the truth.” She whispered in my ear. What did she mean?  I felt her hand start to thread through the ends of my hair.  It was too forward and I pushed away from her.

     

    “I have so much to tell you Spencer.  So much that could change everything.  All this time…” She started quickly.

     

    “NO Jena!  You don’t get to play me a fool like this.  We said we would all talk together.  I don’t want to hear your excuses until Kaylen gets here.” I stated coldly cutting her off.  “You don’t get it do you?  I am with Ashley now.”  I saw the blue eyes flash cold.

     

    “How is the rockstar?” She asked with a sneer.

     

    “God, Jena you can be such a bitch sometimes.” I snapped back.  “Ashley isn’t just a passing phase or a notch in my belt.  I am in love with HER, not her fame, not her money.  Do you really think I am that shallow?”
