She started to extend her hand for introduction and then pulled it back with a questioning glance at me.  I glanced down….oh Hell no!  I was standing in my doorway with nothing but a pair of red boy shorts underwear and an old AC/DC white tank that was scrunched up to just under my boobs.  I am sure I had some really awesome sex/sleep hair going too, but I didn’t have a mirror to confirm it.  Going by the look on her face was really all the confirmation I needed.  This was so not how I was hoping to meet this girl.

“I am really, really sorry.” I said as I yanked down my tank.  “I just woke up…late night…you know.” 

She just nodded her head slowly in a way just to agree with the crazy person in front of her.  She took a step back.  Oh my God she was beautiful. 

“Don’t go!” I yelled.  She jumped. “I mean hold on just a sec and let me get dressed”

Just then Jess came down the stairs from the loft.  At least she was dressed.  She had found my favorite old Class of ’03 sweatshirt and some softball shorts.   Her clothes from last night were tucked under her arm.  Ashley glanced around my shoulder with wide eyes. 

FUCK could this get any worse I thought?  Oh yes…yes it could and it did.

“Who the hell is she Spencer?”  Jess said in a possessive tone. I turned around to look at her.  Was this the same sweet Jess I had been talking too last night? My brains were scrambled.

“No one…uh I mean Ashley.  Forget it Jess.” I stuttered.

“What the hell Spencer?  You are in town for like a week and you already have girls lined up.  Jesus, I haven’t even made it out your door and you are ready to drop me like a bad habit…again.  That Jena girl really fucked you up didn’t she.” Jess ranted. 

I glanced quickly back at Ashley.  Her eyes were wider still and her jaw had dropped a little in shock.  I couldn’t blame her.  I wanted to tell her ‘jump in to my nightmare the water is still warm’ but I was still speechless and Jess was still venting.
