The King High Killer – (Chapter: Chapter 13, Friday the Thirteenth; Halloween)

It was the very last thing Ashley Davies felt like doing, but she had slept at her parents’ house instead of the Carlins’. Her only peace of mind was the knowledge that the acting sheriff had placed a squad car outside the residence just in case. There was still no word on her mother, but apparently the woman’s latest boy toy said he hadn’t seen her in almost a month. Upon further questioning he admitted that she told him that she’d be having lunch with a friend that day at a nearby restaurant just outside of Rome where they were staying. He hadn’t seen nor heard from her again and just assumed she had took off—a very Christine Davies-like behavior.

No, the boyfriend wasn’t worried. No, he didn’t feel the need to report it. Yes, she had done that type of thing before. No, he didn’t know who the “friend” had been. But Christine hadn’t charged anything to anyone of her credit cards and this was the biggest red flag—mostly because it was Christine Davies.

Thousands of miles away, Ashley Davies had woken up in her parents’ bed on Halloween morning, feeling terrified and anxious. Spencer’s cell phone kept going to voice mail and the brunette hated that she wasn’t picking up any of Ashley’s calls or answering her texts. Something didn’t feel right.

With dread in the pit of her stomach, Ashley quickly got dressed and drove over to the Carlins’ to confront Spencer on her behavior. The brunette didn’t blame Spencer for giving her the cold shoulder—the things she had said the previous morning had been rough—but Ashley’s last text pleaded with the blonde to just tell her she was all right. But Ashley got no response.

Glen answered the door after Ashley had rung the bell eleven times looking as though he had just woke up. “Ash, what the hell? I was sleeping!” The brunette didn’t respond, and instead, pushed passed the boy and made to run up the stairs to Spencer’s room. “She isn’t here.” Ashley halted on the second step and turned around to face the yawning blonde.

“She texted last night saying she was crashing at that Lily chick’s house.”
Ashley’s shoulders slumped as she descended the steps and slid down the wall in the hallway. “You guys get into a fight or something?” Glen asked as he joined Ashley on the floor. The brunette nodded, wishing she could shake the anxious feeling in her gut.

    1. DUDE. I checked this site obsessively all damn day yesterday! Nice ending, super epic. I like that it was 31 days too. SHIT that was awesome. New story soon mk? My 2 suggestions are as follows: not a year long and ummm more sex. KTHXBYE!

    2. I am literally physically exhausted from reading these last 3 chapters. So much excitement and drama. I knew it was Marie, the Glen and Kyla part threw me for a whirl but I knew Marie was behind it. This story was amazing and kept you guessing from beginning to end. The love and devotion that Spencer and Ashley had for each other was amazing. Marie was the perfect villan. The only part that made me think that it wasn’t her for a minute was when she was showing ginuwine concern for Ashley. This was an intense read from beginning to end and it sucks that so many people were killed because one woman was so sick in the head that she plotted the murders of so many teens. Gays, outcasts, and a single mother, and a kitchen worker who was friends with Ashley. You are an amazing writer. I would pay to read your work any day. I adored this story even in all the craziness that occured. This was a job well done.

    3. PS woah I was watching last week’s episode of House and BAM there’s Gabrielle Christian as a special guest. Haven’t seen her in any tv since South and I had been picturing her all afternoon while reading your story and then there she is! So unexpected!
