“Uh-oh,” he replied. “What did you mess up with Spencer now?”

            “Why must you always assume I messed something up? Maybe I just don’t like the holiday in general. Or maybe she messed up.”

            “Right, okay,” he replied unbelieving. “So what happened?”

            “Well Angela came back from class and she was all upset because she didn’t have a Valentine. And I was like, ‘who cares, it’s a Halmark holiday, and so on and so on.” I finished telling him the rest of the story and he just looked at me.

            “So?” he asked.

            “So now she’s disappointed and I don’t know what to do.”

            “Well that’s stupid Ashley. It’s obvious. Surprise her with something special on Valentine’s Day. I know you’re not into it, but she is so do it for her, not you.”

            “I know I could do that, but it’s too late now. Angela made plans for us!”

            “So get her a date and your problems are solved, right?” he asked.

            “Yeah, but who and how am I going to convince someone to ask her on a date?” He held out his arms wide to show that he was available. “What are friends for Ashley?”

            “Oh yeah, act like you’re doing this for me with no benefits. She’s totally hot and maybe even out of your league.”

            “Ouch,” he replied.

            “Actually, no this could work. I mean, you’re hot, for a guy. She’d totally go on a date with you.”

            “Yeah, I know,” he replied cockily. I just laughed at him. He was so full of himself sometimes but I do love him.

            The next day Spencer came down to my room in a hurry. She walked in without knocking and caught me off guard so I jumped as she surprised me.

            “Oh Jesus, you scared me,” I said.

            “Did you tell Aiden to ask Angela out?” she asked, ignoring my fright.

            “No, did he?” I asked, playing dumb.

            “Yes! You didn’t say anything to him?”

            “No, why would I?”

            “I don’t know I just thought it was random I guess,” she said, calming down.

            “Is she going out with him?” I asked, because I seriously wanted to know.
