    Victims, Aren’t We All? – (Chapter: 3)

    ****

Tears fell freely on the brunettes face. She remembered Spencer’s enthusiastic ‘yes’. That night had been perfect. It was the next day that had changed them forever. Closing her eyes she saw the blondes face, calling out to her. She could see Aiden slapping her. And she howls with fury. Revenge is at her door and she gladly accepts it.

Fluttering of wings catches her attention and she looks towards the crow. He’s flown towards the coat closet. She walks towards the closet. When she opens it she see’s a beat up looking trunk. Pull it. He wants her to pull the trunk out. So she does as he wishes. Opening the trunk she finds leather pants, a black long sleeved shirt, and Halloween make-up. On the front of the trunk is a drawing. It’s a drawing of a mask, it intrigues the brunette. Never did she remember the trunk or any of its contents in the apartment before this day.

Just paint your face the shadows smile

She stares at the drawing again. And then the idea hits her. Tearing open the white Halloween make-up she starts applying it to her face. Looking over she see’s a small cracked mirror lying on the ground next to the crow, she takes it to inspect herself. Approving she starts on her lips and eyes. Finding black lipstick in the kit she starts duplicating the mask drawing. Making lines across her lips, and eyelids while adding shading.

    slipping me away from you

it doesn’t matter how you hide

we find you if we’re wanting to

Standing, she starts taking off her burial clothes. Throwing them off to the side, she catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror. The raised scars all across her stomach, and the gunshot marking on her shoulder only added fuel to the fire of rage.

so slide back down and close your eyes

sleep awhile you must be tired

Grabbing the leather pants she proceeds to put them on, followed by the long sleeved black shirt. They fit perfectly. Almost like a second skin. The thunder clapping in the night sky peaks her interest and so she walks towards the window.

    but every night i burn

    screaming the animal scream

    every night I burn

    dreaming the crow-black dream

Lightning etches across the sky followed by the rolling thunder. This is good, the Gods are angry too. Taking a deep breath the brunette inhales the rain filled air, its fresh and clean. Screams of thunder startle the crow, he flaps his wings and flies towards her. Landing on her shoulder she doesn’t mind, its a comfort. Lightning strikes close by allowing light to flash over the brunette, showing off her newly painted face. The crow caws his approval. She turns away from the window and walks towards the front door. Something very important of her’s was stolen and she knew right where to get it back…
