Alice: So do you have a celebration planned?

Bette: All I want to do is spend time with Tina and Angelica, just be together as a family.

Alice: Well we all wish we had been able to celebrate that milestone way back when here in California.

Bette: Yea, but things happen for a reason. We are in a really good place now. Even better than when we decided to have a baby.

Alice: That’s good, that’s really good. Well I won’t keep you. I just wanted you to know I love you and wishing you the best tomorrow.

Bette: Thanks Alice, we’ll call you when it’s over.

Alice: Well, we may all still be here at the Planet, so just call Kit here first.

Bette: We will, thanks for calling and send everyone my love.

Alice: They all say the same to you Bette.

They end the call and Bette smiles. Grateful that the distance hadn’t hurt her friendship with Alice.

Bette works steadily on the other issues on her desk until Charlie shows up to do the tour. They hit the hot spots and everything meets with Bette’s approval. She spends the final hour of the day tying up loose ends then packs everything up for the night. She has decided to leave her laptop in the office; she refuses to be sidetracked from her family tonight. She arrives on time to pick up Angelica. Boo greets her with a big toothy smile, shouts of Momma and a big hug. There was nothing in the world as wonderful as the unabashed love her daughter. Bette thinks to herself, tomorrow Boo, tomorrow I’ll really be your Momma. They head home on the subway.

Bette: Hey we’re home.

Angelica: Mommy?

Tina: I’m right here baby come give Mommy a hug. Hey babe, how was your day?

Tina holds the baby as she leans in to kiss Bette.

Bette: It was a good day, but this is the best part. Oh Alice called and says hi.

Tina: Yea, I talked with her too. Dinner is almost ready, leftovers as per your request.

Bette: Sweet, I’ll change and I’ll be right out.

They enjoy the southern meal again and agree that the chicken tastes even better one night later. They hadn’t given Angelica any cake last night, but allow her to have dessert tonight. She’s fascinated by the red cake and plays with a bit before she actually tastes it.
