At the last check up Tina had 6 months ago, she was still cancer free. Now it’s time for a new check up. Bette had taken the day off from work, as she always did when Tina was scheduled at the hospital.
“Baby are you ready?” Bette calls out as she stand and wait by the door.
“Yeah, just a sec.” Tina replies, seconds later she enters as she is pinning up some stray hairs. She walks up to Bette. “Ready.” Tina says and smiles. Tina had now gotten her hair back, it’s down to her shoulders and it’s a little darker than it was before. After the chemo took her hair, she said that she would never have short hair again, so she’s saving up. Never above shoulders again.
They left for the hospital. This was the last check-up until next year. If she still is cancer free now, she doesn’t have to come back in 12 months.
They arrive at the hospital and walks up to Dr. Mitchell’s office and takes a seat in the waiting room. They don’t have to wait long before the nurse calls them in.
They walk in and is greeted by Dr. Mitchell.
“Hello, Tina, Bette, long time no see. As it should be.” He says and smiles.
“Yeah.” Tina replies and smiles back.
“Well, why don’t we just get to it.” He says and starts for the door.
“Sure, yeah.” Tina says and starts to follow him. “Babe, would you mind stay here this time?” Tina asks.
“No but T is there something wrong?” Bette asks worried.
“No, no, nothing’s wrong, I just need to talk to Dr. Mitchell, alone.” Tina says.
“Oh, okay.” Bette says, still has a worried look on her face.
“I’ll be back soon.” Tina says and leans in for a kiss. “Love you.” Tina says before she follows Dr. Mitchell.
In the exam room, Tina is undressing and getting ready for an ultrasound, while nurse takes a blood test.
Dr. Mitchell starts the ultrasound and keeps it on for about 5 minutes.
“Well, it looks clear here. And the blood test will come back later tonight. I’ll call you those results.
“Thank you. Doc?” Tina says.
“Yeah.” He replies as he turns off the machine.
