Chapter 188

A week later, everything is sort of back to normal. Tina is back at work, but only 3 days a week Monday through Wednesday. She bring the boys with her and they spend the day in the centre’s day care. That way they’re able to play with other kids.

Bette called Peter a few days ago to set up a meeting with Julia. And that meeting is today. It’s Friday and Tina is home

There’s a knock on the door. And Jessie and Julia enters.

“Hey mom, Tina.” Julia says and smiles.

“Hey Tina, Bette.” Jessie says.

“Hey, guys.” Both Bette and Tina say in unison.

Jessie is going to stay with Tina and help her with the kids while Bette and Julia are meeting Peter.

“So mom, are you ready?” Julia asks

“Yeah, two sec.” Bette replies and walks over to the crib and picks up a very awake Andrea.

“Hey, sweetie, Mama’s gonna miss you very much. You be a good girl to mommy and aunt Jessie okay?” Bette says softly as if Andrea is able to understand everything her mother says. She just stare up at her mother. “I love you.” Bette adds in a whisper and then kiss her all over the face.

“Bette, babe, she’ll be fine.” Tina says and walk over and put her arms around the mother and child.

“I know, it’s just so hard to leave her you know. It’s only been a week.” Bette says.

“I know babe, I felt the same way about the boys. Go, Jules needs you more right now.” Tina says and give Bette a quick kiss on the cheek.

“I know.” Bette replies. She gives Andrea over to Tina and then leans in for a soft kiss on the lips. “I love you, call if anything happens.” Bette says with worried eyes.

“I will, I love you, now go.” She says and almost pushes Bette towards the door.

Jessie and Julia are standing outside.

“Are you nervous?” Jessie asks as she holds her arms around Julia’s waist.

“Yeah.” Julia replies.

Inside Bette sees the private moment and stops.

“Stop.” She says to Tina.

“What?” Tina asks.

“Look.” Bette says and points through the window at The girls.

“Oh, we’ll give them a few minutes.” Tina says and smiles.
