Outside:

“But mom’s there with me, so I’ll be okay.” Julia adds.

“Yeah. You should go, good luck and call if you need anything.” Jessie says.

“I will.” Julia replies and leans in for a kiss.

Just then Bette and Tina walks out.

“So, ready?” Bette asks looking at Julia.

“Yes, I am.” Julia replies.

Bette gives Andrea and Tina a final kiss then leaves. Julia gives Jessie another kiss and follows Bette.

“Bye mama.” The boys calls out as they come running outside.

“Bye guys. I’ll see you soon.” Bette says and get into the car.

Bette wipes away the tears that escaped earlier as she backs out of the driveway.

“It’s hard leaving her.” Bette says.

“Yeah, I can only imagine.” Julia replies.

“Have you and Jessie talked about having children?” Bette asks.

“Yeah, we’ve entered the subject on different occasions.” Julia replies.

“Okay. So you want kids?” Bette asks.

“Yes, we want kids. But not yet, we want to be finished with school and gotten a job before we start a family.” Julia says.

“Good plan.” Bette says and smiles.

20 minutes later they pull into Peter’s driveway.

Bette looks over at Julia, she looks a little pale.

“Are you okay sweetie?” Bette asks with a worried look.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, just a little nervous.” Julia replies.

“Okay, come on.” Bette says and gets out of the car and holds out her hand to Julia. She follows and takes Bette’s hand. “Just be yourself. He’s gonna love you.” Bette says and squeezes Julia’s hand a little.

“I hope so… Do I call him dad or Peter? Or Mr…” Julia asks.

“Peter might be the best in the beginning. Then later if it’s what both of you want and feel comfortable with, you might start to call him dad.” Bette replies.

“Okay… Thanks for coming with me mom.” Julia says and looks into Bette’s eyes then giving her a hug.

“You’re welcome sweetie… Ready?” Bette says and looks at Julia.

“Yeah.” She replies.

Bette knocks on the door and moments later, Peter opens the door.

“Elizabeth, hi… and Julia, nice to finally meet you.” He says and reaches out his hand. He’s smiling, almost crying. Julia sees that he’s nervous too. She takes his hand.
