    A crush, a meeting then love?? – Chapter 69

    “Bette hey.” Lara says.

“Hi, Lara.” Bette says and moves past her and into the back to get her bag.

“How is Tina?” Lara asks as she follows.

“She’s doing okay, it’s still a difficult time, but we’ll pull through.” Bette replies.

    “That’s good.” Lara says.

“Yeah, we’re going out on the course now, I’m taking car 10, that’s the special car right?” Bette asks

“Yeah, with the handicap seat, yes.” Lara says.

“Good, well I should get back out there, she’s waiting.” Bette says.

“Do you mind if I come out and say hi?”.” Lara asks.

“Off course not. We’re out by the range, at least for 15 minutes or so.” Bette replies and then leaves.

She walks out back to the range, where Tina has placed herself by the mat area.

The sun is shining bright today, but it is a little wind.

“There, I’m ready.” Bette says and takes out her range-card and buys a bucket.

She takes out her pitch. She always starts with the pitch, it’s kind of a ritual. Ashe takes a few practice swings first. Tina is watching closely. She enjoys watching Bette play. It’s such a gracious sport. Bette takes the first swing and hit the ball almost perfect. She continues till the bucket is empty.

    Just then Lara came out.

    “Hey.” She says.

    “Hey Lara.” Tina says.

“So how’s it going?” Lara asks, she gives Tina a quick hug.

“Okay, getting used to it, taking it day by day.” Tina replies.

“I’ll just get the car.” Bette says and leaves Tina and Lara alone.

“So have you started physic therapy yet?” Lara asks.

“Yeah, I started this morning and will be going every day except on Saturday and Sunday.” Tina replies.

“Good, you’ll be walking really soon, I’m sure of it.” Lara says and gives her a little smile.

Bette pulls up close to the range. She gets out. And walks over to Tina and takes her chair over to the car.

“Lara, could you take the chair into my office?” Bette asks as she lifts Tina into the car.

    “Sure.” Lara replies.

“Thanks” Bette says. Lara walks inside with the chair.

Bette shows Tina how to fasten the seat belt.

    “Are you comfortable?” Bette asks.

    1. My goodness, nobody could ever dream about a better and more caring support then the one Bette gives to Tina – especially here.
She’s so right : there’s nothing worst than holding tears back and endlessly putting a mask for everybody around…
Tears are the best medication to erase a growning inward tense or a hidden sorrow.

You know, Lauren, I was expecting Bette’s joy discovering the photos Jessie took of her T, but you added something beautiful here : the way one can see behind the expressions of the loved one, particularly when those expressions were fixed on photos to be read more carefully than during the moving reality.
I also love the way our lovely Bette choiced to bring Tina in a lonely and sweet place to let her physically express her fears and pain. That was truly tactful.
No, really, it would be simply impossible to be more caring and delicate…
      Great chapter, Lauren.

    2. oh my poor heart too…so very sad but kind too cuz Tina have someone who loves her beyond everything in the world and never will disappoint her..hey what about Tinas bro sis and dad they never called to her? please let Tina start feel her legs soon im begging you..great chapter as always thanks

    3. Its sad,but I don’t think you could ask for someone better than Bette to be by your side. Hopefully, Tina will start to regain the feeling in her legs. I’m a bit worried about Jessie, but as I said back when, I still think the two will take her in, they have a lot of love so theirs plenty to share.

    4. Lauren…great chapter. Bette was setting the mood for Tina to relax. For Tina to feel comfortable and then Bette told her to let it all go. That was truly touching. The connection between the two of them is amazing. Tina needs to mourn her loss…not that it’s permanent, but she needs to feel her sadness — then of course will come her anger. It’s the same steps taken to mourn death. Lauren…thanks for the lovely chapter.

    5. “You don’t have to be so strong you know? It’s okay for you to fall apart.” Bette says softly…..“I’m here to pick you up. I’m not going anywhere.”…. “I see it Tina and Jessie saw it. Please let go of your mask. I know that this is all new and scary, but hiding your true feelings from me isn’t going to help”….. “Please just cry baby, you need to cry.

Lauren, this was Beautiful, simply Beautiful…

    6. Wow, to have such a love. Great chapter. Hope that Tina’s condition improves soon. But, it’s good that they have this time to observe just how much they love each other, thru whatever comes their way. Please post again, soon.
