A helping hand and a push in the right direction-CH. 29

    “We can handle it T.”

    “I know we can babe…”

They leaned in again sealing all their plans with a kiss. After a few minutes they pulled apart and reluctantly went inside since it was getting late. Both were feeling a lot better now that they had a plan. As Bette was leaving to pick up Eli they got held up at the front door after a short make out session Tina sent Bette on her way while she went over to call Grace.

Tina had a big smile on her face after talking with Grace. It felt great that everything was falling into place. Before she put the phone down it rang.

She figured it’d be Eli to see what was taking so long. Eli was a great kid but he sometimes had a problem being patient. “Eli Bette’s on her way to get you…”

    “No it’s Melvin Porter…”

Melvin’s voice was enough to stop Tina mid-stride. “Melvin hi umm if you were calling for Bette she’s stepped out for a moment but she should be back in half an hour I can tell her to call you when she returns.”

“That won’t be necessary I was hoping to speak with you if you had a moment.”

“Of course what would you like to talk about Melvin?”

Tina got comfortable on the couch as she talked to Melvin. It was a short conversation it mostly consisted of Melvin requesting an audience with her. She was a bit reluctant at first with meeting Melvin one on one but if they were going to work out their differences she was willing to try if it meant that Bette could keep her father in her life. So she agreed to meet him, now all she had to do was convince Bette to let her meet with Melvin alone. Bette wouldn’t be crazy with this idea she knew how protective she could be and after their talk she knew that she wasn’t a big fan of her father’s at the moment. Not telling her was out of the question she wasn’t going to start out their new lives with a lie but Bette wasn’t going to be happy to stand on the sidelines.

    1. Awwww I love this amazingly sweet story, I’ve really missed an update, but totally understand your prioritys. Looking forward to the next one – btw I just loves the plans they’re making :o))

    2. I’ve been following this story from its beginning. It is so awesome. I also love that you write detailed and layered chapters. You take the time to have the story unfold at a realistic pace. Great job. Bette is so accomodating w/o being a doormat. Being a diehard TiBetter this is how I pictured their life together. I hope this happens on the TV show.

    3. Great job once again, toribio! Wish I could write such long chapters! The way you have everyone talking things out is great–filling in the gaps the show left. Can’t wait to see how Tina’s convo with Melvin goes–it was neat how you connected him and Peggy. All these characters are true to form. Please post again as soon as you can!

    4. You, of course, can’t see it, but I’m doing my happy dance. :) Glad to see this story back, finally! You peg Peggy pretty dead on; that stream of words without stopping. Ah, I do love her so! I had to laugh at Bette getting sleepy with Tina stroking her hair; I’m the same way. I think it’s cute that Bette wants to ask Eli’s permission. Seems about right if she’s going to be stepping into their lives. As for Tina and Melvin alone… yikes. Can’t wait to read all about it, though! Love how long your posts are, and I hope you don’t keep us waiting as long next time!

    5. Is this story every worth the wait. Great job. Love how B&T are actually talking to each other, how Eli is included in all they’re plans and thoughts, especially Bette. Melvin will come around now that Peggy got a hold of him. I agree with AmandaMG, a baby sister would be good.

    6. The talk that Peggy had with Melvin seemed to have kick started his want to maybe make things right. He maybe doing this for Bette and Himself but in the long run it will also be for Tina and Eli. I am so glad that they are working towards becoming a true family.

    7. EXCELLENT updateand Amanda, you took the words out of my mouth. I sooooo totally agree with Amanda and love you writing and comittment to this story, PPS :o)

    8. Toribio, this is absolutely fan-fucking-tastic!!! Sorry, but there are no better words! And great of Tina to let Bette in on her talk with her father, it would be an aweful move to start their new life with a lie indeed! I loved every single word of this chapter… Wrong, I loved every single word of every single chapter of this story!!! Thank you so much and please come back soon with either of your stories, you’re a fantastic writer!

    9. I love this B&T (and Eli) I love how they communicate better now…how they are with each other. I am proud of how Bette is so protective of her family. I like how they were both willing to compromise about the move. I guess in a nutshell I love this story. Thanks for continuing to post and giving us something wonderful to read.

    10. I like how long your chapters are. Thank you. This is such a sweet love story. Totally love Eli, although I don’t agree with Bette feeling like she has to his permission to marry Tina. It is cute, but Eli is still a nine year old child.
