    Alice and Dana vs. Tonya

    Previously…

     

    Tennis was always Dana’s first love; if Tonya decided to put an end to Dana’s career she could. If Tonya put pressure on Dana, there was no guarantee that her reputation on the world circuit would come second to Alice, and she was so scared. So terrified of being pushed to the side yet again that she pushed first. It was Alice’s only defence mechanism, and one that she’d had plenty of practice to perfect over the years. Wearily, Alice got up and dressed. She wiped the tears from her eyes and went downstairs to meet Dana in the car.

    Tonya sat at the table in the interrogation room examining her fingernails. She’d managed to chip some of the varnish in her struggle with Alice earlier.

     

    “Fucking bitch” Tonya muttered under her breath “This manicure cost me a fortune…”

     

    There was a knock at the door as the handsome young police officer that had apprehended her earlier came to pass on the message that her lawyer had arrived and that Alice was waiting to make her statement.

     

    Tonya shot the officer a dazzling smile, “I presume you’ll be escorting me to the reception…”

     

    The policeman offered a half-smile and asked Tonya to follow him. “With pleasure…” Tonya gushed, watching closely as he walked ahead of her down the corridor.

     

    Alice almost regretted asking Dana to wait in the car. The police station had a faint smell of disinfectant that always reminded her of hospitals and related other negative connotations.

     

    “I’m sorry to keep you waiting but if you would like to follow me Miss Pieszecki, we’re ready to take your statement.” The officer who rang earlier smiled at Alice as she dutifully got up and walked towards the reception area.

     

    As Alice left the room, she spotted Dana waiting patiently. Eagerly she ran and sank into her girlfriend’s embrace, burying her head in the crook of Dana’s neck and familiarising herself with the brunette’s scent as Dana stroked the back of her head and whispered in her ear.

     

    Dana: Al, I know you didn’t want me to come and I’m not sure that I understand why, but I can’t let you do this on your own… I want to be there for you…

    6. I somehow missed the update, but yay you’re back!! You promise Ton Ton won’t show up again? Alice and Dana are so sweet together in this chapter. And yes, moving can be stressful. I’ve moved 4 times in the last 3 years…and I’ve decided that I don’t want to move for a while now. ;)
