    Chapter 42

     

    “Bette, how are you?” Shane asked

     

     

    “I’m fine Shane thanks for having me over” Bette smiled

     

     

    “Glad you could make it”

     

    “Come on in guys everyone’s out back”

     

    Bette was at awe at the place it was really well done. Sleek and modern

     

    They walked outside to the pool where everyone was gathered Carmen’s family, Shane’s foster parents, Kit, Alley and Steve, and Matthew, Tina’s aunt Patti and soon to be wife, even Tim was there, along with a couple of other people Bette did not recognize.

     

    Carmen greeted Bette and Tina with a huge hug and kisses.

     

    “Happy birthday girl” Tina said as she gave Carmen her present

     

    “It’s from Bette and I”

     

    “Awe… you guys” Carmen gushed as she gave them another hug

     

    “Tina I have a surprise for you!” Carmen yelled

     

     

    “For me?” Tina looked at Bette with a look of surprise

     

    “Yeah I was DJ-ing at this new club in Beverly Hills called ‘Lust” and guess who I ran into?”

     

    Carmen grabbed Tina by the hand and dragged her over to where Kit was sitting talking with a small cute blonde girl. Bette followed

     

    “Oh my God Brenda!!” Tina yelled as she took her into a tight embrace

     

    “Tina, I haven’t seen you in forever, how have you’ve been” Brenda continued to hug Tina.

     

     

    “I’m fine, doing really well actually” Tina smiled

     

    “Yeah I hear you’re this big time movie producer, you have your hands in all sorts of things now a days. Including Helena Peabody”

     

    Everyone laughed at Brenda’s comment as Tina felt her face flush

     

    “Well yeah I guess I do”

     

    Everyone was laughing except Bette, Tina noticed this and grabbed Bette’s hand and gave it a squeeze Tina decided to tease Bette a little.

     

    “Brenda you remember Ms. Porter”

    “Yes, Ms. Porter how have you’ve been?”

     

     Bette gave Tina a look that could kill

     

    Everyone laughed including Bette as Tina gave her hand another squeeze, Tina always had a way of making Bette feel better.

     

    “Please Brenda call me Bette and I’m doing just fine thank you”

    11. So good that Shane talked to Bette because Bette needed to hear those things. She needed to know that Tina is still in lovse with her since she did not believe that she was anymore.
