    What is more important biology or love?

    Carmen: Oh its you.

    Alice: I know you were expecting Casanova so I will pretend to not be offended.

    Alice plopped down some shopping bags and looked at Shanna. Immediately Shanna started making baby noises and waving her fist at Alice with a serious face on. Carmen laughed to herself, and though I take that back Shanna sometimes had a fiery attitude like her Mamita. Alice bends down to pick up the baby who rest her head in Alice’s neck.

    Alice: What is wrong with my Shane Jr.?

    Carmen: Alice her name is Shanna and Jr. is for boys.

    Alice: In case you haven’t realized it yet I am a bisexual we don’t like to deviate to just one gender.

    Carmen: Alice you haven’t been a bisexual since 2004 I think they revoked your card.

    Alice laughs a loud laugh which startles Shanna who picks her head up and looks at Alice.

    Alice: I think either Shane Jr. is none too happy with me laughing loud in her ear or she wants me to eye gaze with her. Sorry lil yoda that is the job of your mamita not me.

    Carmen: Oh shut up I read in a baby book that eye gazing helps to form a better connection with the baby.

    Alice: That is a load of crap.

    Shane: Alice you can’t curse in front of Shanna like that. She might understand what your saying.  

    Shane comes through the door and I run to her. We kiss each other and Alice clears her throat.

    Alice: Look Shanna that’s how they ended up with you.

    Shanna looks up at Shane and stretches her arms out to her and makes grunting noises. Shane takes her from Alice and Shanna smiles at her. I feel a pang of jealously that I shouldn’t.

    Alice: Fine Shane Jr. I see how it is. Your mami comes home and I’m chopped liver.

    Carmen: No I am the one who is chopped liver.

    It comes out harsher than intended and Shane gives me a look.  She doesn’t say anything and leans down to kiss Shanna’s face.

    Shane: I’m going to go change out of my work clothes and change her too. Excuse me.

    1. I was in desperate need of some Sharmen (fine, always am) and you just post a new chapter of this story; this couldn’t go wrong. I think they should adopt Alice. Haha. She’s a kid after all, right?
