Chapter 69
Christmas Eve
Bette was standing in her bedroom looking out of the window when the door opened and Helena walked in
“Hey “
Bette turned
“Hey there – you okay ?”
“Just dropped in to see how you are doing “
“Can you not control your woman ? “ Bette asked
Helena looked puzzled – Bette indicated for Helena to join her at the window. Helena looked out at the garden and laughed – Jodie was in the middle of a snowball fight that involved all the kids, Tina, Lara and Alice.
“Any rules to this battle ?”
“Everyone for themselves apart from the unspoken rule that Zak and Hannah don’t get too roughed up “ Bette laughed as Becky’s snowball caught Jodie on the top of the head soaking her hair.
“Glad I am up here – what’s your excuse ?”
“Tina is supposed to be distracting the kids while I wrap up the last of the presents.”
“Everything sorted for tomorrow ?”
“Yes – my super organisational skills have come to the fore “
“I think all your life you have needed the sheer complexity of six kids “
“Maybe you are right – I was out first thing this morning getting fruit and vegetables and fresh milk and some rolls – Tina and Lara were still asleep “
“What time is Ironside coming over tonight ?”
“Helena !”
“Well its appropriate a wheelchair bound detective – Chief Inspector Ironside”
Bette smiled “ They are coming over at about 5 “
“And what time are you asking Ms Kennard to marry you ?”
“She thinks that we are driving over to you to pick up Josh’s bike “
“And how do you feel ?”
Bette smiled “ Part of me cannot believe that I am so close to asking her to marry me”
“You are going to do it though ?”
“Of course – I love her and I want to spend the rest of my life sharing it with her “
“And her three daughters and two dogs “
“Something like that “ Bette looked at Helena “I have no doubts “

AWE, what awesome chapter…. the love all the way around, that house is gonna be HUGE… i just see the dogs and the cat now haha.

That was absolutely beautiful. I knew Bette had found the perfect home for thier very large family but I never expected that she would be having it built from the ground up. I am so glad that Tina didn’t get upset that she wasn’t the one who got to propose first. Wow Ollie made a 360 it is great how he wants to make sure that Bette and Paul are able to leagally take care of the kids should anything happen to Tina and him.

Ahhh, that sure was romantic Ally. Nice thing about the pre-fabs is you can keep adding units until the rooms and houses are the size and configuration you want. So will it all be sleekly modern? I mean it about the NC-17. I want a great big fat one.
