    Beautiful Tuscany Chapter 9/ Waiting

“I’m so glad you guys are here, she wiped the tears from Kit’s eye.” Al, she said placing her hand on Alice‘s cheek. There was no need for words, her look said it all.

“T, are you doing okay, Alice asked?

     “I’m okay, really I am.”

“Have you eaten anything? Kit questioned.

“Not really, I just haven’t been hungry, she said.

“How is she, Kit asked? She walked over to Bette and took her hand. Bette, it’s Kit, I’m here baby sis. You’re going to be fine. I love you. She leaned in and kissed her.

“Hey, Bette its Alice, how are you doing? You plan on waking up any time soon? Alice made jokes to keep from breaking down. Hey, Shane, Carmen, Dana, Jenny and your baby girl Angelica all send hugs and kisses. They said to tell you they love you and you need to come home soon. Okay B? Alice stepped back from the bed and held on to Tina. I can’t believe this T. I just can’t.

“It’s okay Al, she knows were here and she’ll wake up. She has to.

Kit and Alice sat down in the chairs close to her bed, Tina stood by the window. There was no talking, just waiting. Visiting hours were over at eight thirty. Kit and Alice left with Maria who demanded they stay in Tina and Bette’s room back at the villa. Being so overly exhausted when they arrived changing their close was even too much to ask. They both just hit the bed and tried sleeping.

It was now two o’clock in the morning and Tina just couldn’t sleep. She took a book from the bag Maria brought and started reading. There was and interesting story she began to read. At first she wasn’t sure about the moral to the story and then she read it again. This time it came through loud and clear.

There was a farmer who had many fields and he kept all the birds and creatures away from his crops with traps and fences. He was very successful, but he became very lonely. So, one day he stood in the middle of his field to welcome the animals. He stood from dawn to dusk with his arm stretched out calling to them, but not a single animal came. Not a single creature appeared they were terrified you see of the farmer’s new scarecrow.
