    Breaking Barriers-Loving a Woman & Her Daughter-Chapter 3

      Chapter 3.

As Bette unlocked the front door, her smaller half walked passed her sobbing and dragging her bag along the floor behind her.

“Pick your bag up Angie.” Bette said unconcerned with how upset her daughter was with the talking to and punishment she had received in the car ride home from school.

Angie angrily picked her bag up and started crying even harder, desperately hoping to appeal to her mothers softer side. The side of her mother that she knew up until today. Bette ignored her child and walked past her, heading toward the kitchen.

By the time Angie reached her room, she was physically and emotionally exhausted. On the forty minute drive home from school, her mother had done nothing other than yell at her and they argued considerably. She dropped her bag on the floor and fell face first onto her bed. Left alone with her mothers words ringing through her mind and the fear that she had never seen her mother react like that before, bought on another set of tears that she was unable to control.

Angie had always had a great relationship with her mother. It had always been just the two of them and there extended family of her mothers sister Kit and a few of her mothers closest friends. Angie had grown up with these people in her life, she loved them as much as they loved her, if not more. To a degree she was quite spoilt, but Bette had always been very firm with her and Angie had grown up being a polite, studious, happy little girl. Bette was always so proud on the compliments she received about Angie, right from when she was a small baby. Of course they had the odd time where the would butt heads, a lot of that being more down to their similarities in personality.

An hour later Angie remained on her bed, but now lying staring at the ceiling. The sobbing had ceased but the tears still seeped from the corner of her eyes. She had actually been a little scared of her mothers reaction earlier. She doesn’t ever remember her mother screaming at her like she was. And add to that her punishment! “Anyone would think I’d robbed a bank!” Angie thought to herself. She had a two week ban on the computer, also playing with her mothers phone and worst of all, no visiting friends and no having friends over! She understood that she had done the wrong thing, but her mum was being just down right mean, or so she thought. It made her wonder what else Miss Kennard must have said.
