„Euhm… why ?“ Helena was apprehensive if she even wanted the answer, but decided to bite the bullet and ask anyway.

„Helena, your mother is on her way over here. And as far as I have figured, she…“

„Mother is coming ? Whatever for ?“ Now Helena got a hard look on her face.

„Well, she called me yesterday to fish for information… I think. And from what she told me about your last call, she is not a happy camper right now.“

Ms. Waters was always protective of her one-time-charge and now was a good time to finally stand up to Peggy Peabody. That was what made her decide to visit L.A. earlier then promised and the phone call the day before just had manifested that believe !

„She always was a bit jealous of our relationship, even if she never let it on to me, but now I think she knows I know more about your life then she does, and that seems to irk her. The reason for that I can’t fathom, because she was the one who gave you into my care all those years ago in the first place. But, Helena, we both know all that and I decided it’s time to stand up to her. I am not her employee anymore and whatever we both do is not her concern.“

„It’s ok, little one… Hmmm, that feels funny to say it since you’re so tall now.“ Margret Waters said. „Anyway, I assume your other half will be here soon again. So is there anything she needs to know beforehand ?“

She absentmindly petted Blue, who had taken his rightful place on her lap after the women had taken their seats on the couch. He purred with delight at not being forgotten.
