CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT
Bette looked at her books, frowning. She tilted her head in doubt. Maybe alphabetizing them by title would be a better idea? If she wanted to read a certain book and she couldn’t remember the author, it’d be easier to find. But then again, didn’t it look better if it was arranged by author? She could always list all her books in a document and then easily find the writer.
“Is something wrong?” Tina asked, noticing the sudden silence. She was just hanging Bette’s last clothes in her closet. She had arranged the clothes according to what they were: long sleeved shirt, short sleeved shirts, no sleeves, blouses, sweaters, pants… she had already made the stickers at home. She knew how Bette would otherwise end up just throwing everything in there and not find it back and then just wear the same clothes all the time again.
“No, I’m fine,” Bette answered. “I was just wondering how best to order my books.”
Tina smiled. “Honey, don’t worry. You’ll figure it out. Why don’t you take a look at attaching your laptop?”
“I won’t be able to focus on anything if my books aren’t right.” Bette turned to look at the blonde and smiled fondly. “You know that, baby.”
“Yes, I do. Arrange them by author, I’d say. You’ll probably make a list of all your books anyway, so if you don’t remember the author of something, you’ll find it soon enough.”
Bette arched an eyebrows. “Damn it, how the hell did you know that? Are you some scary mind-reader or something?”
Tina shrugged. “I figured. You see, I am your girlfriend and I know you. So, who’s your roommate anyway?”
At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Before either of them could welcome the person on the other side in, the door had already opened, revealing a stressed out brunette. She was carrying a large box and was followed by a tall guy covered in bags.
Bette stood up and walked over to the girl. She extended her hand.
“Hi, I’m Bette Porter. You are Louise Scout?”
Louise looked up. “Yeah, and this is my boyfriend Mark. My name is Jean Louise, but I prefer just Louise. Jean just sounds too old, you know. And my God, what where my parents thinking, you know! Jean Louise Scout! Okay, they liked the frigging book, but not I get to walk around with the name!”

Now why would Eric just walk into Bette’s room? Here comes more complications. Can’t hide from your past can you?

Hey Genner, Great new and fresh addition. Good to see Bette and Tina looking after each other. I just adored the green-eyed monster peaking out of Tina after see met Louise. Also, the uncomfortable moment when Bette had to think about how to explain how she and Tina first met and got together. They do need to be careful as unfortunately people will think of Tina as a predator after her being Bette’s teacher first and then starting a realtionship with her pupil. Not best to publicize when beginning a new job. Now the main point of delight is what the heck is Eric doing there???Looking forward to your next installment impatiently. The plot thickens as it begins to boil
Hi, dear sweet Gen! *waving* Gosh! Two magnificent updates in one day! You certainly know how to spoil us. Ah, this chappy was pretty interesting. How Bette is installed at the room she will share with a talkative roommate. That last entrance with Eric, showing up, doesn’t seem appealing. B&T moved there, so as not to find anyone known. That’s quite ironic. Hope he won’t bring any trouble to our beloved girls. Thanks for these 2 marvelous chapters.
