Chapter 25 – The Designer and One more Talk with Angie
Jim: And have you already picked out the paint for these rooms?
Tina: Yes, but I would have to check with the contractor on what that is. Look for something neutral or traditional. Jewel tones in the office and something neutral in the private quarters. It’s a place just to relax in when I need to. May need a few lamps for the side tables. I do not need a fashion statement, just something comfortable and reasonable. I do not need anything custom made, just run of the mill whatever is readily available. And your client is Kennard-Porter Studio, LLC. And it is located on Lincoln Boulevard in San Monica. The contractors will be finished around September 15th as well. So as soon as you can purchase and deliver, I would appreciate it.
Jim: Would you object to buying display samples?
Tina: As long as it’s clean and looks good, no problem at all.
Jim: And what about computer equipment?
Tina: I’ll work with some computer people on that. They can install and get me set up and I’ll have someone to service them when there is a problem.
Jim: Okay, I think I can handle this. Let me look over this drawing and come up with a plan and I will give you an estimate on what the cost will be. I can also give you a schedule on anticipated installation. The big challenge will be the Murphy bed. It’s been a while since I have dealt with one of those. Brilliant idea I must say. You have a bed but stored away when not needed. Saves space and can be an attractive piece of furniture. May I keep this drawing?
Tina: Yes of course. I believe it has all the measurements on it. And The Studio will be glad to make a deposit this week if one is required.
Jim: Well, this is not a very big project. I am going to have to look into the kitchen and bath supplies. I don’t get many requests for those.
Tina: On the bath towels? Anything but white. White towels have to be replaced more often than those with color. Get some matching bath mats which are washable to walk out of the shower with also.
