    Baby-making….

    Coming up for air – part forty six

    “Babysis? T?” Kit called out.
    Tina blew her nose for the tenth time. “Hi Kit… I’m out here on the patio…” Tina shouted, her voice cracking up.
    Kit came to the patio door and looked down at Tina, who was sitting just to the left of the entrance. “Tina, honey…. what’s the matter?” Kit asked at the sight of Tina’s tear-stricken face.
    “Nothing Kit… I’m just… happy, I guess….” Tina answered while blowing her nose again.

    Kit sat down next to Tina. She looked at her intently. “Happy huh? You could have fooled me…”
    “I am… really, I am…” Tina tried.
    “Okay? Happy how?” Kit continued to push.

    Tina bit her lip hesitating to tell Kit about Charlie’s phone call. She wanted to turn to Kit, look into her deep brown eyes so full of concern, and share with her what was on her mind. Kit had always been there for her. She knew without a doubt she would listen and offer her shoulder for Tina to cry on. But a tiny voice inside her told her to stop for a minute.
    “I’m not sure…” Tina said, looking down at her hands clutching a Kleenex.

    Kit watched Tina for a little while in silence. “Alright… I’m sure you have good reasons not to say what’s obviously bothering you… Babygirl… you know you can trust me, right?”
    “I know Kit…It’s not that at all. I trust you… more than anyone else really. It’s just, I think that maybe I should talk to Bette about this before I share it with you… it’s no big deal anyway…”
    “Where is Bette anyway?” Kit asked looking down at her watch.
    “At work…”
    “It’s almost half past seven, Tina…”
    “Oh, I know what time it is….”
    “Is my babysis back to her old ways? I thought she was doing so well… with the new job and all….” Kit said and took Tina’s hand, giving it a light squeeze.
    “She is… She’s been doing so incredibly well since she started her new job… It’s been great… she seemed happy at work… and still happy to leave it behind. I’m sure it’s just a phase… it’s the semester start… it’ll change,” Tina said, hoping Kit would agree with her.

    “… maybe it will…” Kit said hesitantly, “but you know Bette, maybe you need to remind her of her priorities…?”
    “Maybe…. I not sure she’ll like that though…” Tina said, still looking down at her hands.
    “Probably not… but as smart as my sister is, she still needs to be reminded that there’s a life outside of work sometimes…”
    “…. yeah… she does…” Tina whispered.

They need to be in it together.. not just when they have a child but in creating it..and through the pregnancy. Can’t wait for more. I love this story. Its really a rebuilding of their relationship.     11. Tina reclaimed her wife before Bette strayed to far away from her. Their relationship has grown so much from the last time they were separated. Tina recognized the signs that Bette was getting lost in work & Bette accepted her reminder & was able to correct it the situation before their relationship suffered a major setback. This is a much stronger B & T and I hope they were successful in producing a little Kennard – Porter! Ciao.

    14. I guess every couple experiences that time when they see a side of their partner that is a little foreign to them. Accepting and moving forward isn’t always so easy. Good ending showing them more on the same page. I’m not a tremendous lover of the baby so soon storyline, but I know it’s a popular theme. Nice writing! Thanks!

    16. May their wait be fruitful. Tina took the stand about Bette’s work and probably saved their life as a couple. The emotions ran free and probably brought a little peace to both of their spirits.

    22. Hello Ank, Good to have you back and posting more of this amazing adventure. I loved the way that Tina called Bette out on her recent behavior. Yes, Bette had started a new job but that shouldn’t allow her to ignore Tina and their plans to get pregnant. After everything that they have been through it was a shame that Bette was once again excaping into her work. Yes, it was completely understandable as that is the one place where Bette feels secure in doing the right thing. TIna was a megastar in pointing out everything. Then to cap it off, you had them snuggled in bed, hopeful that the latest insemination had worked. It was wonderful to picture them in bed with Bette’s cuddling Tina as she slept. There little talk undid all of the previuos hurt adn showed what a powerful couple they have become. Now I just want you to confirm the pregnancy and get on with this joyful journey. More please from your grateful and Loyal Fan.
