    Baby-making….

    “I just came by to drop off some books… and I brought you food from The Planet… so there’s plenty for the both of you in the fridge…” Kit said and got up. “I have to get back…”
    “Oh… thank you Kit… and thanks… you know… for the advice…”
    “Any time… Tina… tell her whatever it is that’s on your mind…. and tell her she needs to come home to her wife at night and not burn the midnight oil at the office…”
    Tina nodded and got up to give Kit a goodbye hug.

    After Kit left Tina went inside and changed out of her work clothes. She put on jeans and a t-shirt and washed her face before she picked up the phone and called Bette’s cell. The call went straight to voice mail, which meant that Bette probably hadn’t left the office.

    She made a quick decision and grabbed her jacket and car keys. She called Bette’s cell one more time from the car, just to make sure they wouldn’t miss each other, going in different directions. But there was still no answer.

    Tina walked without a sound down the quiet halls of The Art Department. A few students were still around. She saw them working in the studios behind the glass doors she passed on her way. A faint light came out from under the door to Bette’s office.

    For a tiny moment Tina wondered what she would find behind the closed door. A distant memory of Candace’s face flashed before her eyes. But she willed it to go away, shaking her head as if that would rid her of the horrible remembrance.

    She knocked lightly and with a slight sense of relief she heard Bette’s voices answer with an: “enter”.

    “T? Why?… What are you doing here?” Bette asked, looking up from some papers with a frown.
    “I just… It’s late and I was hoping we could talk… I would have waited till you got home… but I didn’t know when that would be…” Tina said, feeling awkward all of a sudden.
    “Well, come in… don’t stand there in the door…” Bette said and got up.

    Tina went inside the dimly lit office and closed the door behind her.
    “Why didn’t you just call, Tina? I would have been home in an hour or so… kind of a waste of time to drive all the way over here…” Bette said.

    2. Aww. The end made me so happy. I’m glad that Tina confronted Bette about the work issue. They need to be in it together.. not just when they have a child but in creating it..and through the pregnancy. Can’t wait for more. I love this story. Its really a rebuilding of their relationship.     11. Tina reclaimed her wife before Bette strayed to far away from her. Their relationship has grown so much from the last time they were separated. Tina recognized the signs that Bette was getting lost in work & Bette accepted her reminder & was able to correct it the situation before their relationship suffered a major setback. This is a much stronger B & T and I hope they were successful in producing a little Kennard – Porter! Ciao.

    14. I guess every couple experiences that time when they see a side of their partner that is a little foreign to them. Accepting and moving forward isn’t always so easy. Good ending showing them more on the same page. I’m not a tremendous lover of the baby so soon storyline, but I know it’s a popular theme. Nice writing! Thanks!

    16. May their wait be fruitful. Tina took the stand about Bette’s work and probably saved their life as a couple. The emotions ran free and probably brought a little peace to both of their spirits.

    22. Hello Ank, Good to have you back and posting more of this amazing adventure. I loved the way that Tina called Bette out on her recent behavior. Yes, Bette had started a new job but that shouldn’t allow her to ignore Tina and their plans to get pregnant. After everything that they have been through it was a shame that Bette was once again excaping into her work. Yes, it was completely understandable as that is the one place where Bette feels secure in doing the right thing. TIna was a megastar in pointing out everything. Then to cap it off, you had them snuggled in bed, hopeful that the latest insemination had worked. It was wonderful to picture them in bed with Bette’s cuddling Tina as she slept. There little talk undid all of the previuos hurt adn showed what a powerful couple they have become. Now I just want you to confirm the pregnancy and get on with this joyful journey.
