    Baby-making….

    It was early Sunday morning in the middle of March. Bette hadn’t slept at all. She had stayed awake all night, holding Tina close while watching the night change into morning. Bette was lying on her side with her arm supporting Tina head. Her arm had gone numb hours ago, but she couldn’t bring herself to move it.

    Tina was on her back, her face turned slightly away from Bette. Her chest rose and fell slowly. She looked so peaceful, her sleep deep and dreamless. Bette let her hand slip under Tina’s t-shirt on her stomach. She was very careful not to wake the sleeping beauty in her arms. The skin felt soft, smooth, and intensely warm under the palm of Bette’s hand. It felt exactly like every other time Bette had placed her hand right there, wondering for the hundredth time how it was possible for someone to be so soft. But underneath the skin something profound could have happened. That night they may have changed their future.

    Bette knew it was ridiculous, but she couldn’t help wondering if she could feel life inside Tina. She ran her hand over the spot where she imagined the baby would be growing inside her. Bette looked down at her hand resting just above where Tina’s white panties began. Her hand looked so dark against all the whites and pinks that were Tina. But it looked right.

    Bette had always loved the way they looked together, the contrast, the differences as well as the similarities. And now they were trying to create new life out of that love, that contrast, those differences and similarities. Bette knew of course that it wasn’t really her physical features that were now, hopefully, blending with Tina’s inside her womb. But Charlie’s were pretty damn close. As close as any man’s appearance could be to Bette’s. When they had talked about choosing Charlie as the donor, Bette had concentrated on his many mental and psychological advantages: his intelligence, his stable personality, his generosity and ability to love. It was Tina who had talked about how much Charlie looked like Bette, and how wonderful it would be if their child actually could look a little like a combination of the two of them. But even though Bette hadn’t shown Tina how happy it made her that they had chosen a donor, who had the same skin tone, dark almond shaped eyes, and mahogany curls as her, the thought made her feel connected to their future child just a little bit more than she would have, had they chosen a blue eyed, blond donor. Bette couldn’t decide if that made her a shallow person, but with her hand resting against where their child could be growing, she felt that connection. She knew how she would love that child like she never loved before.

They need to be in it together.. not just when they have a child but in creating it..and through the pregnancy. Can’t wait for more. I love this story. Its really a rebuilding of their relationship.     11. Tina reclaimed her wife before Bette strayed to far away from her. Their relationship has grown so much from the last time they were separated. Tina recognized the signs that Bette was getting lost in work & Bette accepted her reminder & was able to correct it the situation before their relationship suffered a major setback. This is a much stronger B & T and I hope they were successful in producing a little Kennard – Porter! Ciao.

    14. I guess every couple experiences that time when they see a side of their partner that is a little foreign to them. Accepting and moving forward isn’t always so easy. Good ending showing them more on the same page. I’m not a tremendous lover of the baby so soon storyline, but I know it’s a popular theme. Nice writing! Thanks!

    16. May their wait be fruitful. Tina took the stand about Bette’s work and probably saved their life as a couple. The emotions ran free and probably brought a little peace to both of their spirits.

    22. Hello Ank, Good to have you back and posting more of this amazing adventure. I loved the way that Tina called Bette out on her recent behavior. Yes, Bette had started a new job but that shouldn’t allow her to ignore Tina and their plans to get pregnant. After everything that they have been through it was a shame that Bette was once again excaping into her work. Yes, it was completely understandable as that is the one place where Bette feels secure in doing the right thing. TIna was a megastar in pointing out everything. Then to cap it off, you had them snuggled in bed, hopeful that the latest insemination had worked. It was wonderful to picture them in bed with Bette’s cuddling Tina as she slept. There little talk undid all of the previuos hurt adn showed what a powerful couple they have become. Now I just want you to confirm the pregnancy and get on with this joyful journey.
