Fallin’ PART 1 of 2
Tina shook her head… Pressing her eyes tight shut.
No… She hadn’t just been thinking that… She tried to focus on thinking about Brenda… Come on… She should have that jump of heart about Brenda, right? After the night they had had?
God, what was wrong with her?
Reprimanding herself she picked up the phone, trying to sound light-hearted, happy and careless, having no idea if she even slightly succeeded
Hello…
Grabbing for a glass on the table, Angelica shortly distracted Tina from the phone, and the blonde caught the breakable item right before it could fall on the floor.
Hey T!
There were only a few people in the world that gave her that nickname. And even though this time it wasn’t spoken out by the person who had made it up and had used it with more love and tenderness than any other, Tina still felt a shiver running up and down her spine just hearing it.
Hi Al, what’s up?
She said, handing Angelica a toy so perhaps she would be busy for a while… Lost attempt, she knew instantly as she saw the little dark eyes glimmer, and she smiled endeared…
What’s up? What’s up? Are you fucking kidding me? What’s up! Tina Kennard, if you don’t start telling me about your date right now, Ill start singing about the bottles of beer on the wall! Knowing how much you like it!
The smile broadened and became something between a giggle and a laugh as Tina remembered how Alice once, after a party, had stayed over, being, as Bette had stated it: Too drunk to set one foot in front of the other, let alone drive home. So she had stayed, on the couch, and then, right before dawn, she had stood there, at the foot of their bed, still drunk as hell… Singing that absurd song which had made Tina laugh hysterically, especially at the face that Bette had made.
Okay, okay, hold your gunfire, Ill tell you already…
Hesitating shortly, on how to begin her tale, Tina felt how suddenly the surrounding sounds began to blur as the tune of a familiar song drifted her way
