"I don’t know Al, I don’t think Carmen wants to see me right now".

"Shane her fucking mom just died, im sure she would love to see all of her friends right now including you".

"Alright I guess, this sucks so much". Shane felt tears go down her eyes

"I know Shane, everything is going to be okay". Alice comforted Shane. They stood their both holding eachother while Shane let the tears flow. She couldn’t believe what happened. She loved Mercedes a lot and she felt terrible for not being at the funeral or being there for Carmen. Shane thought in her mind I should of been there for Carmen. After a little while, Alice left. Shane knew it was only right to go with her friends to see Carmen. It killed her inside to know that Carmen must be going through hell during these last couple months. Shane thought how could I just leave when Carmen needed me the most. Shane knew she had to do something to make things right.

4 hours later…

The girls arrived at Carmen’s house. Bette knocked at the door and Carmen opened the door, happy to see her friends.

"Carmen we just found out about what happened we are so sorry about you lose" Bette said

"Thanks for coming guys" As Carmen hugged each friend one by one until she saw Shane. Carmen had no idea Shane would come. She was somehow happy to see Shane.

"Hey Carm, Im so sorry, if you need anything just ask" Shane said while hugging Carmen. Carmen said to herself Can I have my heart back.

"Yeah, thanks for coming" Carmen didn’t want to show Shane any emotion on her face.

As they sat in her living room they all comforted Carmen. Shane caught Carmen’s eye a few times. Shane couldn’t stop looking at Carmen after all those night of her in her dreams she was finally there in person. Even though it was the worst scenario it was still nice to see Carmen. As the girl went to the kitchen to get drinks Carmen and Shane stayed in the living room. It was an awkward silence. Shane got up to sit next to Carmen.

"Carmen, I really did love you Mom, she was like the mom I never had".
