How to lose a girl in ten days
Story written on June 22, 2008 by geek in the pink.
Tina was sitting at her desk, her friend Dana reading the article she wrote.
"Tina, it's brilliant!" Dana said, impressed. "It's really moving." She said, and then added,
"But it's never going to appear in Composure Magazine"
"God I busted my ass off in grad school to be 'Tina Kennard' how to girl." Tina exclaimed.
"I mean I fucking right about 'how to use the best pick up lines' or 'Blondes do they really, like, have more fun?' l want to write
about things that matter, like politics and the environment and foreign affairs--things I'm interested in. I want to write a piece of substance!"
"Keep busting your ass you'll get there." Dana said trying to encourage her. "Hi I've got something that will cheer you up!
Remember that editor from sports illustrated? The one you've been flirting with for I don't know about a month?? Got a little package for you…"
"Oh my god! Let me see let me see!" Tina shrieked.
Tina looked at the envelope. "Ha!!! Tomorrow night…." She smiled.
"What happens tomorrow night?" Dana asked.
"Only the most exhilarating and artistic display of athletic competition known to mankind!!"
"The ballet?" Dana asked.
Tina rolled her eyes. "NO! The NBA finals! And I got tickets!!! Want to go?"
"Fine, I'll go. But I'm not putting out."
"Two beers and a jumbo dog and you'll be singing a different tune."
"You know what I like" Dana said.
Suddenly Lana their boss walked passes them. "Don't forget staff meeting, ten minutes."
"Jenny, haven't seen her all morning, have you?" Tina said worriedly.
Dana shook her head, "Ten to one she's wallowing."
"It's my turn I'll get her" Tina said, taking a cashmere sweater from clothes hanger passing by.
"Oh boy, drama drama drama" Dana said shaking her head.

Bette drove her motorcycle to work finding a parking place. Just as she got off she saw Jodie.
"Hello Bette." Jodie said, reading a magazine.
"Hey, hey. Good morning Jud, what's up?"
"I told you not to call me that."
"Oh, come on you can't still be angry… you knew it was just one night." Bette said shaking her head.
