CHAPTER EIGHT: Push and Pull Part Two
"Are you okay Bette?" Shane asked as she saw Bette walking towards them at their usual table inside the cafeteria. The brunette had left them a few minutes ago in good spirits, saying something all morning about starting to make "it" right. What "it" was, Shane didn’t know but guessed that it was somehow connected to a certain ban that Bette declared late last night (which didn’t really surprise her as she sorta saw it coming). I guess "it" turned out all wrong, Shane thought as she saw how distressed Bette looked. She looked pissed. She looked very, very pissed. But when Shane looked closely, she could see that beneath the anger, there was immense sadness in Bette’s eyes. "What happened?" Shane asked worriedly.
Bette merely shook her head to the side as she slumped into her seat, not really wanting to talk about it. Sam and Kennard. Her mind just couldn’t wrap itself around the idea of the two of them together. Her mind went back to the image of them embracing. She clenched her fists as she remembered the way Tina’s hands gently and lovingly stroked Sam’s back. Questions ran through Bette’s mind as she tried to process everything. Were they just friends or are they together? How long have they known each other personally? Sam being head over heels in love with Helena.. was it just an act? Did Kennard have feelings for Sam? What?! Bette sighed, knowing fully well that the only people who can give the much needed answers to her questions were busy holding each other in a balcony on the third floor.
"Is this about the Kennard girl?" Alice eyed Bette as she subconsciously ran her thumb up and down along the center of her chest, as if she felt something in there hurting. Oh my God, Alice thought, so Bette really did have a heart.
Suddenly, a student busted in through the cafeteria doors in a panic. She ran to the table nearest her and frantically related a few words to the surprised students occupying it. Within the next few seconds, the occupants of the table began to disperse and head to the adjacent tables. Pretty soon the whole cafeteria was abuzz.

I’m really enjoying this story so far, and can’t wait for Bette to stop being such an ass and make it right! Although I feel Tina’s going to take A LOT of persuasion to get her head round this one! pps x
way to go bette… thats one way to win someone over… i was wondering if sam was going to come to her rescue… but was happy to see bette stop that shit too… wow what a story… and i’m loving it… thanks for answering my questions… PPS
OMG my heart is pounding from that chapter! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I can’t believe Bette let Tina get hurt like that. Poor Tina! Time for Bette to pull her head out of her wazoo and do the right thing for once in her self absorbed life.
this is so good and love it!
Loved the way you portrayed their feelings, but my question is: Does this type of hazing and bullying really happen in american schools? Nothing like that even came close to that in my high school, hell, even country..
