    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

    “Helena?” Bette said as she opened the screen door to let the four women inside.  “Welcome back. 

    Tina leaned in and kissed Dylan on both cheeks.  “Happy Thanksgiving.  Come on in.”

    “Bette Porter?”

    “Peggy Peabody.”  Bette smiled affectionately at the older woman.  Why they called each other by both first and last name whenever they saw each other was an unknown, but it seemed that they’d done it since they first met in Santa Barbara.  “Come in, come in.”

    Marilyn said, “It smells wonderful in here.  Just like Thanksgiving should smell.”

    Everyone was inside and they were standing near the front door.  Bette looked out at Boden who seemed perfectly fine double-parked on their small residential street.  “Uh…is he going to move the limo?”

    Peggy glanced out.  “I don’t believe he is.”

    “He can’t just park there.”

    Peggy waved Bette away dismissively.  “Of course, he can.”  She said and then grabbed Marilyn’s hand and headed out to the patio where the sound of people and music could be heard.

    Helena and Dylan stood with Bette and Tina.  “Tina, you look smashing.  Absolutely lovely.”

    “You were always a sucker for a pregnant woman.”

    Dylan turned to Helena in surprise.  “Huh?”

    “Tina was pregnant when I first met her.”  Helena’s eyes flitted across the room looking for an object to change the subject.  Her eyes came back to Bette.  “I love that dress, Bette.  It looks beautiful on you.”

    Tina’s arm went around Bette’s waist.  “It does.  She looks amazing.”  Tina’s hand moved away from Bette’s waist, down to her lower back, and then lower until she massage Bette’s butt through the dress.  Tina felt a bit of excitement announce itself between her legs with the thought of Bette being completely naked under that dress.  No panties, no bra, just skin.  “Amazing.” 

    “Thank you,” Bette said.  She casually tried to move Tina’s hand, but Tina wasn’t budging.  She rubbed and rubbed her ass until Bette grew so uncomfortable she slid away from Tina’s touch.  “Let’s go outside.”

    Shay was playing with some of Angelica’s blocks and helping her build a fort or cabin or something.  Angelica chewed on the corner of a block as she watched him. 

    A few feet away, Alice was talking to Carmen.  “Did you do this mix playlist?  I like it.”

That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic. Kudos to you and also Wendy for creating this wonderful story.

    13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………

You did an absolutely remarkable job with this. The story telling, the storyline, the interweaving of the characters, seasons, cannon and AU was beyond incredible. You have amazing talent and I hope to read more of your incredible work. Amazingly done!
